Max watched her. "Do me a favor. Turn to the Lord's prayer," he instructed her as he turned right and headed towards the church. He was going to do everything in his power to preserve this young girl alive. And what better way to do so than take her to Church? There, they could be protected by God. He firmly believed that. He had no idea who would want to take a life like this. Obviously someone who needed to be prayed for. But what he did know was that they did not have to be victims. With God on their side, they could do anything.
He parked in the parking lot and locked the car except for his door. "Come out this door," he whispered. "Bring the Bible. You'll be safe in here, I promise. God doesn't allow evil to enter his churches." He held the door open for her, looking around, eyes scanning the parking lot. He felt like someone was watching, even though they had left the evil at the house. He felt very uneasy. He couldn't wait to get inside, honestly.

- outfit : NEVAEH'S OUTFIT
It did not make any sense. None of this did. What was going on? Why didn't her dad just tell her the reason why she should not go back to the house? That something was wrong. Nevaeh...She had never been more scared in her entire life. Who was back there? Was she this close to becoming just like all of those other girls? In the hospital? Or worse. Dead. Nevaeh did not want to die. She wanted to feel safe. And if her home was no longer safe, then what place was safe? Where would she and her family go now?
Swallowing the lump inside her throat, Nevaeh looked down at the bible in her lap and slowly opened it. She started to flip through it, trying to find the page that Max had wanted her to find. Trying to find the Lords Prayer. But before she could, they were at the church and Max was telling her to come out his side. So closing the bible, Nevaeh held it tightly and climbed over into the driver's seat and out of his door. She hadn't even noticed until now, but her hands were trembling. No, her whole body was trembling. “What-what's going on?” she looked up at Max. “What is happening?”

Max walked to the windows, keeping an eye out. How had he gotten himself into this? Nathan was a member of his church. He had called, scared that his son had committed a crime. He had explained to him about the girl he found, near death. In his shed. All Max had wanted to do was go, bless the home, and the crime scene. And he had found her. God, if he had only been a little late. But, he didn't understand it. Nathan said that nobody was in the house. So, why was she there? That poor girl. Max counted his blessings and thanked the lord for sparing her.
He heard her question and looked over. "That's better saved for your father," he said softly. "He's at the hospital. I'll tale you to him, once I know we're safe." That was enough information, wasn't it? He hoped so. He really did think that Nathan should be the one to explain all of this. After all, he understood it better than Max did. Max didn't really know, not first-hand. He was just the messenger. Just like always
