They were one of three bands that were set to play later that night. While in clubs, they tended to play on their own, when it came to outside events like this one, there was usually a group and oftentimes they were the same bands that they had worked with dozens of times before. They had been around long enough to have a usual team-up and it worked with the shared fans that most of them had between them, not to mention, the draw of new from the other groups. It wasn't even noon yet, by the time that they were set up out there. The day before, they had dictated who would have the stage when, for practicing purposes. None of them were going out there cold. And they happened to snag it for late in the morning. It was fine with Jarrett, although, it could be said that he was usually probably hauling himself out of bed by now most days. Late nights and late mornings were practically his thing. Right now, the stage was scattered with quiet random rhythm and the occasional chatter and movement as they tried to rearrange everything the way they would want it later.
"...Is that Lady Gaga?" Jarrett suddenly looked up, eyes going back to where one of his bandmates was playing with the keyboard. It came, as if on cue, given that he had only just been complaining about the electronic sound he was producing from it. He had been sitting at the edge of the stage, quietly tuning his guitar when he heard a familiar tune, but not something that he heard coming out of his radio on a regular basis. When the guy nodded, he chuckled and actually managed to pick up the song with him, the guitar giving the pop song at least some kind of edge. Though, he stood up and somewhere in the middle of the song, they managed to switch over, practicing music that they actually planned to play and that was legitimately theirs. Once they had gone through a couple of songs, however, Jarrett put the guitar down and hopped off the stage, grabbed his stray water bottle and found himself some place in the grass and simply flopped down, laying back against the grass lazily. The rest of the band was still going over a few different songs and he would join them again, but he was pretty confident to crash there for a moment.

"It's a good chance to make connections" Elexa was saying over the phone as she stepped off the bus, guitar case slung over her shoulder. "Just because we're not playing doesn't mean we can't be good sports and support the ones who were booked." but, the person on the other line didn't agree with her. "Whatever. I'm going. I'll be in the music garden if you need me." And with that, she hung up. Elexa was curious about the three bands who managed to beat hers out. She wasn't too upset over it; there had been several bands, and they could only book three. She just knew they'd get here next time.
She had a cup of coffee in her hand, and a sweater on. Elexa didn't normally come out here in the mornings, or doing much else, actually. Even though it wasn't exactly early, Elexa felt like she should be sleeping. But as they say, curiousity killed the cat.
She had stood on the side, silently listening to them play for a few minutes. When finally one of them left the stage, she decided to approach. "Hi," she said with a smile. She didn't really do the whole randomly approach a guy thing. But hey, they could potentially be colleagues together, and if this guy ever got really famous, she wanted that link. "Having fun?"
