Kenneth stood outside his apartment, flicking cinders off his cigarettes. He hated days like this. He hated detectives across town, he hated reporters. And yes, he hated serial killers. He wanted to relax and just unwind before he ended up shooting someone. Because really, he felt like shooting someone. she really shouldn't be carrying his gun right now.
"Kenneth!" Kenneth's thoughts were cut into by none other than their neighbor
"What?" he snapped, his eyes narrowing
"you're flicking ashes in my flowers again!" she sounded angry. Then again, when wasn't she sounding angry?
He rolled his eyes "Maybe you shouldn't have them there"
"Smoking is a disgusting habit already, you don't need to be making my plants sick!"
"shut up! Jabber, jabber, jabber. That's all I'm hearing from you. And please remember, I'm the one with the gun"
"Oh, so the cop is threatening me now? Go ahead, shoot! Let's see if you have the nerve!" she yelled at him.
Smirking, he put out the cigarette and threw it into her flower pot "have a good night." he told her, heading into the apartment. Well hey, he was being nice and walking away!
"yeah, that's what I thought"
Kenneth wasn't even thinking. Pulling out his gun, he took aim and shot, busting the pot. The woman screamed in protest and in return, Kenneth just grinned "looks like you need a new pot." yeah ,he felt good. At least he got to shoot something.

With a file open on the coffee table, Alex balanced his time between glaring down at it and watching some war movie. He was trying to balance time to relax and time to work. He could do both at once and it was precisely what he was doing. Except the files stopped making complete sense and he eventually shut it, pushing it to the edge of the table neatly. He had just leaned back against the sofa when he heard a gunshot that had him on his feet in a second flat. He grabbed his gun from where he left it and stepped outside, quickly lowering his gun when he saw the culprit and the broken flower pot. "Jesus, fuck." He took a step back, barely refraining from rolling his eyes. Alexander walked back into the apartment and tossed his gun down.
"That woman's gonna kill you one of these days," he commented idly. "And I might not stop her." With that, he walked back fully into the apartment and plopped back down on the sofa where he had been before. Whatever their problem was seemed finished now. Though, he was sure the woman would have more than her fair share of words for him. At this juncture, Alex didn't think he needed to remind him that every shot had to be accounted for. Honestly, he wanted to see how he explained that one away. He'd probably have a good laugh with that one. And why not? He wasn't the one that shot flower pots!

Not about to stay out there, Ken followed his partner inside. "She wanted me to shoot," he informed him. And she had. The man just happened to have a temper that allowed him to listen. He set the gun down on the table and followed him to the couch. "her flowers are sick anyway. I just put them out of their misery" he shrugged and nodded to where the files were. "you done staring at them for the day?" he teased him. His hand went into the man's dark hair with a soft smile. "hi" he said with an innocent smile.
His eyes were drawn to the tv. Eyebrows raised, he looked at Alex "what the hell is that?" The two were such opposites, it was a wonder how they were together. He wasn't organized at all. Plus, Kenneth couldn't stand war movies. Smirking, he grabbed the remote and turned it off. "I don't think we need that," he informed him, leaning in to kiss his neck. Shooting the gun had definitely put him in a better mood than he was in before.

"Sorry, genius, you put the pot out of its misery, not the flowers," he teased, shaking his head. He doubted that the woman wanted him to open fire on her flower pot. Who the hell did that anyway? He knew about his partner's temper. He didn't get how he couldn't control it a little better. Alex had always been able to control his, despite how frustrated he got, and how many pet peeves he had. Glancing back to the files, he shrugged. "Shoot, I'unno." Maybe. He figured he might pick them up again later. But, right now, he couldn't stare at them any longer. He smiled a little when he felt the other man's hand in his hair. "Hey," he replied, shaking his head at the smile.
When he looked to the TV, he frowned. Of course he knew he didn't like them, but he did and he'd been more than content watching it. "It's called a movie-- Hey, I was watching that." Distracted by the kiss to his neck, he closed his eyes momentarily before opening them again and looking to Kenneth. 'The idea that shooting flowers turns you on's a bit disturbing." He taunted, though leaned in, kissing him briefly.

"better than shooting her," he pointed out "so I should get points for that." or something like that. It sounded good to him.He scoffed "yes, you are. Trust me. You are," he told him. Oh, he didn't plan on letting him go back to work that night. It was fine while he was outside smoking, but now he wanted attention. And Kenneth was pretty demanding and stubborn when it came to wanting attention. He wanted what he wanted when he wanted it. And he thought it was perfectly reasonable, too.
He chuckled when he protested that it was called a movie and that he was watching it. "We could always make our own movie," he teased him with a grin. He slowly inhaled as he kissed him and when the man taunted him, he looked at him "no complaining," he instructed him, and when he kissed him, Kenneth barely had a chance to kiss back. So, with a frown, he looked at him "you call that a kiss?" he questioned before leaning in to steal a second kiss.

"You sound a little more sure of that than I am," Alex replied. Though, he shouldn't want to work further on it. It would be better to let it go for the night; at least for the sake of his sanity. And he knew Kenneth well enough to know that he wasn't going to be letting him grab for the files that quickly. If given the chance, he would probably do it again. Often times, he said he was going to stop and then minutes later was back, hunched over the files, staring at them as if something new was going to pop out. That probably wouldn't be happening tonight, and it was probably for the better.
At the thought of making a movie, he scoffed. "Nah, that's okay, I think I'll just keep watching the one I was," he replied. Apparently his kiss could have been better and he couldn't help but smirk when he stole another. But, again, he pulled back quickly. "What would you call it?" He asked, though then leaned in again, this time kissing him and lingering there, adding a little more passion to it the second time around. After a moment, he pulled back, taking a breath. "Better?"

"that's because you are. We worked on it all day. There's nothing new that's come up. It can wait until tomorrow. Now shut up. I'm trying to be romantic and shit" he told him with a chuckle He knew that if he let him, the man wouldn't get any sleep because he'd keep going back to the damned thing. And he loved how passionate he was about their work. It was one thing that attracted him to the man. But really, there was a line between passion and OCD.
"No, you won't" he said sternly, grabbing the remote and tossing it across the room. There, now he'd have to get up if he wanted to keep watching. And getting up would not be easy with Kenneth there to tackle him back to the couch if he so much as tried to stand up. He pouted when he pulled back again. "Evil," he answered his question of what he would call it. When finally, he lingered in a kiss, Ken moaned and slid his hand down onto the man's waist. When he asked, Kenneth smiled "much."/blockquote]

"Well, gee, you're awfully romantic telling me to shut up like that," he taunted. He knew he could overwork. It was something that he often did or at least tried to. When he tried to break away from it, he often caught himself being tugged right back in that direction. It was unintentional, but hard to fight at the same time. He could work around the clock, until no amount of coffee was going to keep him from the inevitable crash. And he relied on coffee enough as it was. It was his most unhealthy habit and when it came to what he ate or drank, Alex didn't have a lot of them. But, he had to keep himself going somehow.
Alex watched the remote get tossed across the room and raised an eyebrow. "Seriously?" He asked, not thinking that tossing it was necessary. But he forgot about it while they kissed. "I thought you might think so," he teased, leaning in again to kiss his neck this time. "You know you're gonna have to go pick that remote up, don't you?" He asked, pressing kisses along his neck before he pulled back again.

"I thought it was a nice touch. Better than candles," he teased back. Romantic was a rare thing with Ken. He knew how to be, and when he actually put forth the effort it was very sweet and romantic. But most of the time, he just didn't do it. He figured he could be romantic on special occasions. Until then, he didn't need to. Alex wasn't going anywhere. At least, not in his opinion. They didn't always get along, and Kenneth had a temper. But he didn't think it would ever be bad enough for a break-up. Why work his ass off to hold onto something that wasn't going anywhere?
When he heard the word seriously slip out, he chuckled "at least I didn't shoot the tv," he reminded him. He had wasted enough bullets, he wouldn't have. Besides, his gun was across the room anyway. He exhaled when he kissed his neck and slowly started to undo the man's belt. When he mentioned the remote again, Kenneth scoffed. "I know one of us will." But it wasn't going to be him. He was perfectly content to leave it on the floor until Alex decided to pick it up.

"Yeah, I'm seeing that," teased Alex, head shaking at him. Alex really wasn't actively seeking out anything romantic. Now and then, he did, but he wasn't all that romantic himself either. On those occasions that he was sweet and romantic, Alex enjoyed it, but he liked Kenneth how he was, with or without. By no means had he been considering anyone different. He was happy with their relationship, even if there were times he had complaints and arguments. Kenneth's temper didn't change what he thought about him. He still loved him at the end of the day and that's what mattered. Alex wasn't going anywhere.
"If you shoot the TV, I'll shoot you and force you out that door to get a new one." He warned. Alex continued to trail his lips down his neck. "It won't be me." He murmured, letting his hand continue on his belt. Of course, he knew that the odds were he would pick it up. Because, it would bother him next time he saw it until he did pick it up, whereas he knew that it wasn't going to be bothering Kenneth in the least bit. He could let it lie there. Alex had a hard time leaving anything out of place.

Kenneth chuckled, running a hand through his partner's hair. He was adorable when he tried to argue with him. They both had their quirks, of course. Alexander's was having to have things in a specific spot. So, he knew that if he left that remote long enough, Alex would end up picking it up. Not that it really mattered who picked it up. It just so happened that one of Kenneth's quirks was that he hated losing an argument. And, he would keep it up until he won. That was just the way he was. Right along with the temper. He had ignored the comment about the tv, because he knew it was ridiculous. Alex would never actually shoot him. Kenneth had made him angry plenty of times before, he was never in any risk of being shot.
"It's getting crowded in here," he spoke softly, placing a semi rough kiss against the man's neck. "Let's go in the bedroom, forget about the damn remote." Because, he had much better things in mind than arguing over who was going to pick it up. The two had a long day, and he was ready to relax...get the frustrations of the day out in a healthy way. It definitely helped when you could take your partner home with you. Of course, the only ones who knew that they were together were people they didn't work around. Kenneth was pretty secretive about his private life when he was at work. Even when he did talk about it occasionally, names were never mentioned. He could be talking about Alex in front of him, and never once let on that it was his partner that he was with. That was yet another quirk he had.
