Well, actually, she did not pick up. But that was only because she was in class and she did not want to get in trouble with her professor. As soon as class was dismissed and she made her way out of the building, heading back towards her dorm, Jez pulled out her cell phone. One new voicemail. Hitting the number one, she placed the phone to her ear as she opened the door to her dorm room. ‘Hey Jez. This is Selena. I just found a note from Yasmine. All it says is goodbye. You should look for her before mom finds out that she ran away.’ That caused Jezebel to throw the phone. How could her sister be so fucking insensitive? She had every right to go over there and slap Selena. She seriously needed a wakeup call. But that could wait. Right now, Jezebel had a sister to find. There was no time to worry about anyone else other than her sister, other than Yasmine. And she was sure that she knew where her little sister would be going. To the one place that Yasmine and her always talked about. California. It seemed to be her favorite place in the world. And who could blame her really? It was a fantastic place to be. But Yasmine was just thirteen years old. And Jez worried about what might happen to her. She would hate to see anything bad happening to her little sister. Moving quickly, Jez packed her duffel bag. She quickly got online and emailed her professors, explaining why she would not be in class the next day. And then she was out of there. She called the airport on her way there. The next plane to California would leave in two hours. That would be at ten o’clock this evening. She hurried to the airport, going through security, buying her ticket. She took a seat and waited. Time seemed to go by so slowly. Every second that passed, she grew more worried about her sister. Please let her be okay. Was what she kept telling herself over and over again. And then she heard that they were boarding and she stood up, getting on the plane. Seven hours and twenty-five minutes. That’s how long the flight was. And the whole time, she could not even get any sleep. She stayed awake, worrying. And when the plane landed, it was 5:20 in the morning. She yawned as she got off of the plane. She rented a car and began her drive into Hollywood. all I need is just a little emotion |
