It's all the same. Nothing has changed. We kept your room just as you left it. I know you don't remember, but you will. I have spoken with Mrs. Stone and we greed that it would be best if you went back to school. It would be good for you. Good? How was it good exactly? He didn't even know what his life was supposed to be like. How was he supposed to react to anyone? The life he remembered turned out to be fake. A tv show. It left him feeling very overwhelmed. He stepped into the cafeteria. School hadn't started yet. The boy was hungry. He picked up a bowl of oatmeal and sat down to eat it. Up until now, he had only paid attention to the map he had been given so he could relearn the school. But now that he was settled at a table, he was definitely noticing it. He was being stared at.
Tyler understood why. Everyone thought he was dead. They were shocked. That wasn't what bothered him. What bothered him was that they seemed to not want to go anywhere near him. They knew him, were his friends. According to his dad and sister, at least. So why was it that his table was bare? Ty had to admit, he felt isolated. Completely alone. And he hated the feeling. With a sigh, he started eating. Maybe he'd go to Mrs. Stone. Ask her to change his dad's mind. Get him to come get him. He just wanted to leave. His thoughts were interrupted, though, when he heard a voice.

Of course! The day before, Lexi had accidently left her cell in her last class. That was two days ago. But Alexis had a doctors appointed the day before, so she was not in school to retrieve it yesterday. So it was not until today that she got it back. And even then, she did not check her messages. maybe she should have, but at the moment she was just focusing on getting the work that she missed the day before. that morning, Alexis had talked all of her teachers and got the work that she has missed. she had planned on working on it during her lunch hour. she was not even planning on staying in the cafeteria. all she was going to do was stop in the cafeteria just to grab an apple or something. little did she know, that she would not be doing any school work during her lunch hour.
pulling out her cell phone, she dialed the number to retrieve her voicemail as she walked into the cafeteria. and that was when she heard it. that's voice, the very voice that she still dreamt about. she had woken up basically at the crack of dawn. Went to school early, planned on doing a little work before her first hour. do some more work during her lunch hour in the library. she was not even all that hungry, so she did not really know why she was coming into the cafeteria in the first place. but then she saw him. right there, in front of her. he was exactly has she remembered him. instantly, the phone slid from her hand, falling to the ground. " Tyler?" she shook her head. no, this had to be some sort of dream.

Tyler. What a strange name. That was all he had been hearing since he woke up, and still it was foreign to him. Like they were speaking in a foreign tongue. He thought his name was Will. He missed his life as Will, even if it had been fake. His father had taken extreme lengths to prove to him that what he remembered was a soap opera. He had seen the girl who used to come in and sit with him, the girl who had been watching the soaps. And even though he was unconscious for most of her visits, there was a sense of familiarity to her. His father had given her their address and phone number. Tyler had begged her to come to Toronto sometime. But he hadn't heard from her since. On the way home, as he talked with Asriel, Tyler remembered one person. He had dreamt about her and had believed her to be part of his dream world. But then her name was mentioned. She was real.
And there she was. Standing there, staring at him. He couldn't help but smile. "Alexis". His love. It was a powerful thing. Strong enough to break all bar riers in his mind. He had dreamt about her look, her feel, the sound of her voice. He stood and approached her. As soon as he was close enough, he reached out and touched her arm, only to jerk his hand back, as if a surge of electricity had jolted him. "You're actually here. Its not a dream." But something was different about her. He frowned a little as he looked at her, trying to remember what it was. "You're different," he finally whispered.
