Overall Personality: Reshelle is a very compassionate woman—when it is absolutely important to be. She is actually void of any real intense emotions. But when it comes to being at work, or assisting in a crisis, she knows just how to be. She adapts to the situation as needed. Her work life is much more involved than her personal life. Actually, there is only one person truly involved in her personal life, and that is her daughter. Even Damon is not allowed in her personal life. Because the truth of the matter is, Reshelle doesn’t really have much of a personal life.
As far as her career goes, Reshelle is a motivating, talented woman. She has earned the respect from the police force when they need a psychiatric evaluation done. She is level-headed and can keep calm even in the worst of situations. It is nearly impossible to scare her. She isn’t even afraid of the threat of death. Because of a past that she has buried and refused to share, Reshelle has hardened her heart and refused to allow herself to waver because of any person.

Background: Reshelle was the older of two children. When she was five years old, she and her three-year old brother, Max, were picked up by a lady in a dark car and taken to a group home. Neither child ever knew why and they never saw their parents again. The building was their home for the next several years, until one day when Reshelle was 11 and Max was 9. After getting into an argument over the use of the television, one of the men in charge of the group home slapped Reshelle. Tearful, she had cried out that she was going to tell her case worker. The home had already been audited, cited for health code violations, and was minutes away from being closed. When her caseworker arrived the next day and Reshelle reported why there was a mark on her cheek, the guy that had hit her had growled at her that she had just made a huge mistake. She didn’t understand what he meant, but she soon would.
Just days later, when all the other children were outside playing, Reshelle was approached by all three people who ran the group home. She was grabbed, and told that she was going with them. She managed a small scream before she was gagged. It was enough to draw the attention of her brother, though, because as they headed for the door, one of them was hit by a baseball slung by a slingshot as Max ordered for them to let go of his sister. Immediately after, he slung a bouncy ball, but it missed, ricocheted and struck the fireplace, causing some of the fire to escape, connecting with the floor.
Reshelle never knew why she was let go. As soon as the fire started, she was released and her brother was grabbed. Taking off the gag and running after them as fast as her eleven year old legs could carry her, Reshelle cried out for Max. The fire grew, destroying the building and the records of all of the children along with it. And although Reshelle tried desperately to tell the police who picked her up, and the new caseworker assigned that she had a brother, nobody wanted to listen to the child that he had been kidnapped. And since a body was found in the remains of the home that they never identified, nine year old Max Jenkins was declared dead.
Reshelle knew better, though. And she wanted desperately to find her brother. But there was just no way that the police were going to search for a kid they believed to be dead. So, every chance she got, she would steal any money she could find and take off, determined to find her brother. It turned into a pattern; she would steal money, even from the collection plates at church, and run away the following day and get on a train. Most of the time, it would be a matter of hours before the police found her and dragged her back. One time, it was days. She would be lectured on how she was making it harder to find a home, because nobody wanted to adopt a runner. But she never cared. She didn’t want to be adopted without Max, anyways, which she would tell them. And they would remind her that Max was gone.
By the time she was fourteen, the words had been drilled into her brain so often that she began to believe it. Her brother was gone. It made her stop running after him. But she never cared whether she was adopted. It also made her stop caring whether or not she attended church. Instead, Reshelle dove right into her books. She wanted to understand the human brain, why someone would do such a thing to her brother. At fourteen, she began reading college psychology textbooks. By the following year, her high school was recommending that she be given her diploma early and allowed to enter into University.
So, at fifteen years old, Reshelle was accepted into Banting University, and began taking thirty units a semester. All she wanted was to be able to be submersed in her work and not have to think about anything else. By the time she was seventeen, she received her Baccalaureate degree in psychology and moved back to Toronto to continue on to get her Master’s degree, which she had attained by the time she was nineteen. At this point, she had reached that stage in her life where she needed to decide what she wanted to do with her life. And honestly, Reshelle didn’t know. So rather than jump right into the Doctorate degree, Reshelle began doing what every normal teenage kid would do—she began partying. Reshelle went out and found out where the hottest clubs were. She even joined in a wet t-shirt contest to win a trip to Cabo San Lucas. And that was how she met Patricia Croswell, then known as Patricia Mathers. The girl had just turned twenty, and was celebrating with her sorority sisters by competing for that trip. And when Patricia won it, Reshelle went up to her and introduced herself, hoping to get in on the trip.
She was taken back to Trish’s dorm hall, where she met Damon Croswell. Being the less drunk of the two, Reshelle managed to help the redhead to bed and then sat up with Damon in the common area, just talking and hanging out. Reshelle liked the older man, and had always wanted to be friends with him, even if he was nothing like what she was used to. (or perhaps because he was nothing like what she was used to). She became friends with both of them, though she had grown tired of the partying scene real quick so she was closer to Damon. So when Patricia announced that Damon was too boring and broke up with him, Reshelle felt bad for the guy. She had taken some pizza to his dorm to comfort him, and one thing led to another and she had turned into rebound.
Being with Damon really changed Reshelle’s life. Especially when, a few short weeks later, she found out she was pregnant. At first, she avoided Damon, not really sure what to make of it, or do about it. She didn’t want to be with him. She didn’t have feelings for him that way. She believed that romantic feelings were irrational. But at the same time, she knew she had to tell him. After deciding not to have an abortion, Reshelle headed to the dorm hall, running into Trish at the same time. Apparently, the other girl had the same problem. She confided in Reshelle that she was done partying and that she didn’t even want the trip to Cabo anymore. She was going to ask Damon to take her back. The reason? The girl was pregnant. Reshelle decided that he didn’t need to be hit with news of two pregnancies in one day, so she left the school and decided to make something of her life, for her child.
Reshelle decided that the best thing to do would to become a psychiatrist. So, she began working on her dissertation to get her doctorate. By the time she finished, she as eight months along. She sent a letter to Damon, informing him that she was a doctor and at the same time, that he was a daddy. By that time, she already knew that she was to have a girl, and so she told him her name would be Roxanne Jenkins. Little Roxxie was born on the coldest, rainiest night of the year.
As the years went by, Reshelle took on two careers—teaching at the university, where she has taught such brilliant minds as Chance Del Rossi, and being a therapist for teens. In between all the hours put in at school and work, she is a mother. Her daughter is now sixteen years old. And although Reshelle has never been married, she doesn’t care, either. She doesn’t believe in true love at any rate. The only boy she ever loved was declared dead at nine years old. Reshelle has never revealed any of her past to anyone, including her daughter. It is buried, and she intends to keep it that way.
