January 17th. That was the day Kevin Lempke's family and friends mourned his death, and spread his ashes in the park. Lily and Melissa both crying for him; Kate just standing there, refusing to shed a tear. Kevin always hated seeing her cry. She wasn't going to let him down.
January 17th. That was the day Logan got sick and had to be rushed to the hospital. Kate found out that he had an older sister and invited her into her home. No child should be seperated from her sibling. Kate fell in love with her the moment she saw her. She was her new little girl. Kate always wanted to have more kids, but had never been able to get pregnant again.
January 17th. That was the day that Kate started to feel like she was losing control of her life. It was the day that a familiar sound came out through the mirror. "Hello, Mouse." Chris. Kate had been fighting her since. It was never good when Chris took over.
In just another week, it would be the two month anniversary of her son's funeral. And poor Kate was not even around. Eight nights ago, Kate's little rat Jessica needed saving. Chris took over and rescued her. She decided then that she wasn't ready to go back into hiding. She trapped Kate and took over. She hadn't been out in 17 years for longer than a few hours. She was ready to have fun.
So when the doorbell rang, Chris answered the door. She was given a box. Inside the box, was a red-headed doll with Kevin's jacket on it. The doll was resting on sand, and on its stomach was a note. Chris figured out pretty quickly that Kate's boy was alive and being kept at the beach. She scrunched up the paper with one hand and grabbed the keys and one of Kate's swords.
It wasn't hard to figure out where on the beach he was. The rocks in with the sand came from only one part of it; Curdled Cave. Chris parked at the edge of the beach and walked out to the cave. "knock knock!" she called out with her menacing voice. Her dark eyes scanned the cave as she went inside. She was sure that these people expected the Mouse to come begging for her son back. Boy, were they in for a surprise.
