"Sacramento, California. And I knowww, it's far to drive from LA. But I thought it'd be fun. But then the car broke down and I HAD to call home and my dad dragged me back home. So I haven't gotten to see her since I was like, two. And she's been in and out of rehab since I was that tiny. That's determination, you know?" After about six tequilas, Grace had spilled it all. She couldn't know, of course, that the person she was giving all of this information to was a bag guy. Worse than bad. A killer. The drunken nineteen year old looked back at the guy who was asking about her mother. "Are you gonna take me to her?"
"Better than that. I'm gonna bring her here"
He hadn't lied. He did bring her back to Toronto. He flew down to Sacramento Friday evening, after school let out. He went down to the rehab and found her. Debra Yorke. The woman had scraggly brown hair and lost, green eyes. She was in the commons area and was rocking, back and forth. He could tell by looking at her that she hadn't been off the drugs for very long this time around.
Jack approached her, using his charm to woo her. He deceived the poor woman; he promised her drugs. He seemed to have said the magic words, though. Debra would probably never recover from her problem; she had been an addict for eighteen years now. She got up with him and left with him, and that was the last time she was ever seen. After all, nobody reports a drug addict missing, nor do they care how she died.
He had to keep Audrey from talking. He had to teach her that this game she was playing was a very dangerous one. That it wasn't just herself she was putting at risk; it was her family, too. He burned a ring into the woman's ear before severing the head from the rest of the body. That was how she died, by being beheaded, and screaming for help. The boy packaged up the parts he was taking with him and sent them to himself via UPS. They were none the wiser.
He would deal with Andre, Rhean, Jessica, Riley, and Grace later. First, he had to deal with the fearless girl. Well, she wouldn't be fearless for long. He took a finger he had cut from the woman, dipped it in her blood and wrote very neatly: "Grace is Next. Still Game?" He placed the note underneath the head, making sure the eyes were open, wearing latex gloves, just in case the cops were called.
The gift was wrapped in a red bow and placed on the doorstep of J.T's apartment. Wearing a masquerade mask, in case of security cameras, he gently put it down, rang the doorbell, and then left. He wanted to see her response. The person that answered te door, however, was not Audrey. Instead, it was her younger cousin.
Alan had been working on a science fair, when the doorbell rang. He made his way to the door from the kitchen, and his face paled when he saw it. "Dad!" he screamed with a very high pitch, before seeing the note. He squinted to read it, and when he saw the name Grace, he gasped "AUDREY!!!" he backed up, screaming. The boy sounded like a young girl, but he didn't care. He was scared. The head---it was staring right at him!
