The halls were buzzing with gossip after the article was put out for everyone's eyes. And by now, most people had seen it, heard of it or were otherwise talking about it. Not that Alanna was surprised. It looked like yet another rumor; those happened. She wasn't completely shocked that it happened, but at the same time she didn't know how much she really cared about it either. It had to suck for Jamie, yeah, and Alanna wasn't on board the bullying bandwagon, but at the same time, she would rather not be involved at all. She just wanted to about her day without having to worry about whether or not she should be sided with a student or a teacher and why there was an affair to begin with. It seemed like something straight out of a soap opera or something, didn't it? It was interesting and good for gossip, but Alanna just wasn't taken by it. And of course people were going to talk. She didn't know how Jamie wouldn't have known better if that was the case. If you didn't want rumors spread about you, it was easier to shy away from that behavior. Of course, personally, Alanna didn't care about whether or not rumors were tried against her. She was fine if they did it, because she wasn't thin-skinned in the least bit and she was comfortable with who she was enough that she didn't feel like what she did was wrong or that what people assumed she did needed to be addressed. Heading into class, she put her bag down before taking her seat; one of the first few to show up.
"Oh no, another slutty girl at Degrassi. Surprise, surprise." Alanna glanced over as Brandon walked in alongside Aaron and Tommy. The three weren't friends, but Brandon had overheard Tommy and Aaron debating over it. Tommy figured that it should be expected and it was Jamie's own fault. She brought it on herself and honestly, it was frustrating to have a coach just disappear like that because of some student that couldn't keep it together around him. Aaron, on the other hand, figured it was a little one-sided and he didn't even know the girl, so he wasn't sure why he would care about who she slept with. He didn't care if it was the coach that left or not. And really, he felt kind of bad for her. And it was Brandon overhearing them that decided that they were being ridiculous talking about it. It wasn't news. Well, the specifics were, but he wasn't shocked.
"Dude, don't be a douche, jackass." Audrey piped up from behind them, pointing them at Brandon. She thought the article was disgusting. And she didn't see why anyone would have thought of Jamie as some kind of evil perpetrator in this. She wasn't jumping on the bandwagon. She barely knew the girl, but this wasn't fair and she was going to be going through enough without the bullies taking advantage.
"He has a point." Another seat taken by Asriel, he joined into the conversation. "But, is it a bad thing? It's nice to see a girl that's loosened up a little," he joked giving a smirk that made Audrey want to punch his smug face off. And Brandon, instead, just laughed at it. Aidan too, followed the group in, but stayed quiet until he found his seat, not chiming into any of the conversations going on. Really, it didn't feel like something that he should talk about. And he felt bad for Jamie, he did. She was a friend of his, so naturally, he didn't want to think of what was going on with her right now.
Of course, the conversations that were filling the room didn't go unnoticed by the teacher either. Although, he said nothing. Oh, they would hear his opinions on it soon enough. It was disgusting, frankly. And was it really the biggest surprise that a group of teenagers made a target out of a girl for horrible reasons? No. It wasn't something that could come as a complete shock; not if you worked with high school students for any amount of time. But it didn't make it less disturbing or something that he wanted to help put a break in. It was still a few minutes before bell, so he stayed at his desk, watching as the students wandered in.

"The coach is gone now so shouldn't she leave too? They can't do that, can they?" Mary looked up from the article, a concerned look on her face. "It wouldn't be fair. Sure, her actions deem being repented for, but to be expelled?" she didn't like the idea. She had been in a conversation with Oceana about it. Mary was appalled that this article was even in the Grapevine. And honestly, she didn't think it was right that everyone was talking about Jamie.
"I dunno," Oceana said with a shrug. She really didn't have an opinion either way. She was only talking to Mary to be nice. As she walked inside the classroom, she made her way over to Brandon and hugged him from behind. She was far more interested in her boyfriend than any gossip. Tilting her head, she smiled and kissed his shoulder. "Heylo."
Mary would have followed, if it were not for Aaron. But she had no intention of being anywhere near him. Instead, she went to the front row, sitting in the far right seat as she set her backpack beside her. "Good morning, Mr. Maxwell," she greeted him, pulling out her Bible. They still had a few minutes before the bell rang, and she wanted to brush up on her Bible reading. She had taken notes from that past Sunday's sermon given by her dad, and now she had a chance to read back over the scriptures and meditate.
"I wouldn't want to be her teacher," Willow was telling Stacey as the two walked in. "I mean, look what she did to his career. So tragic." Willow had a feigned tone of sympathy, but inside she was celebrating a victory. She had said that she was going to destroy Jamie. And now, with the help of Abigail's article, she had. Though, she would never admit to being the mastermind behind it all.
"Willow, shut up" Shayne said, annoyed. "You don't even know what really happened. It could have been rape for all we know" while normally quiet, Shayne was feeling pretty opinionated today. He knew Jamie, to an extent, and he knew that she wasn't just some slut as Abigail had portrayed her. Odd, sure, but not a slut. As soon as he had told the queen bee off, Shayne decided to rush to his seat behind Audrey, not wanting to deal with the consequences.
"I can't believe he allowed this to go in the Grapevine," JJ taunted Tara as she approached the doorway of the classroom. Annoyed, she turned and glared at him.
"He did not! My dad would never do that! You don't even know him, so shut up!"
"What did you just tell me?" he asked, raising a voice as he stepped closer to her, forcing her to walk backwards into the classroom.
Normally, Tara would have backed away and cowered. But he was putting down her father this time. And she was just too much of a daddy's little girl to take it. So instead of standing down, she folded her arms and stopped, refusing to back up any more. "You heard me. Leave my dad alone."
JJ scoffed. "Or what? You gonna pour coffee on me?"
"No, but I'm not afraid to kick you in the --"
"ahem" Mallory cleared her throat, standing behind JJ as she peered at both of them. "Excuse me? I'd really like to get to class. Could you let me past?" she spoke sweetly, pushing her glasses up on her face as they started to slide down her nose. As soon as she spoke, Tara flipped JJ off and went and took her seat. With the path unblocked, Mallory slid past the school bully, surprisingly easily, and looked around before she spotted Aidan. Walking around so she stood in front of him, she faced him with a smile. "I have something for you" she told him, announcing her presence. Already, she was fishing through her backpack for his present that she had bought him.
Matt had barely paid attention to a damned word that anyone was saying today. He was having a hectic day, full of stare-downs with Jack. Even now, the two stood in the doorway, each staring hard into the other's face, each waiting for the other person to step inside the classroom. "Go ahead," Matt growled at him. "Be my guest."
Jack chuckled, gripping his backpack. "Careful what you say, mate. You may end up being my guest, just like your sisters" he said, tone low, so only Matt could hear him.
Grabbing his shirt, Matt pushed him into the classroom. Getting stares from several people, including Willow and Tara, Matt looked around before looking back at Jack. He knew he'd have to choose his words wisely. He had quite a bit of siblings to protect, and one of them was in the classroom. Swallowing, he bent down and shoved two fingers hard into his chest. "You don't talk about my sisters." That was all he said, in order to sound simply like a protective older brother. Once it was said, Matt straightened up and took a seat in the back row.
Jamie hugged her binder, staring into the classroom. She did not want to go in, but she knew she had no choice. At the very least, she wished she had some clothes to change into. While her military uniform had been her favorite attire, she loathed it today. For a second, she considered skipping. Would he even notice? Jamie wasn't exactly talkative in class. As she backed up, though, she suddenly had an arm around her.
"Isn't today so beautiful?" Natasha, who had no clue about any article, asked cheerfully as she stepped into the room, forcing Jamie to go with her. Once they were in the room, she took her arm back and rushed to the front. "Hi, Mr. Maxwell! Oh my god, I have had the best morning!" Had she? Not really. She was still heartbroken over JT. But if there was one thing she knew how to do, it was act. "How was your morning so far?"
Jamie wished she could run right back out of the classroom. But since she was already in here, she rushed to the seat in the back of the room, next to the window. All she wanted was to be left alone. Though, she knew it would not be happening.
JJ was the first to approach. As he sauntered over, he leaned forward and took hold of her hat, giving her a flirty look. "Looks like you've been holding out on us, Jamie. What I would give to see what's under the uniform" he said, sensually, as he touched her cheek. Jamie flinched and moved her head out of the way, trying to grab her hat while she was at it, but JJ wouldn't have it. Holding it high enough so she couldn't reach it, he smirked. "Come on, give us a peep"

Brandon looked up when he was hugged from behind and smiled. "Hey." He greeted, suddenly forgetting the second's ago he was busy with the gossip. Honestly, he didn't care all of that much about it. It wasn't a big deal to him. But, it got a rise out of people. And that was what he did. He bullied and got a rise and then it was done. Besides, it was Aaron and Tommy that were first talking about it. As Mary walked by though, Aaron looked over quickly.
"Mary, hey," he said, knowing she didn't want to be near him, but he got out of his seat and wandered over to her, leaning against the desk beside her. "You don't have to ignore me, you know."
As Mallory approached Aidan, he smiled. "What is it?" He asked, eagerly, very nearly wanting to peek into her backpack before she even had it out. He knew that people were busy being dramatic and that was okay. It was just another day at Degrassi, exactly as he remembered it. He didn't think it really was something he needed to worry about.
Of course, the confrontation with Jack didn't surpass Alanna, but instead of bothering, she looked back over at Matt when he sat down. "Pssst. Mattie." She stage whispered. "Don't be grumpy, he looks like an ass."
Audrey looked over, noticing Tara when she sat down and waved. "Hey, what's up?" She asked, since the class hadn't technically started yet, she saw no problem in talking.
Danny continued to watch them, glancing up at the clock before he looked back at the class. He didn't interrupt them or stop any of the drama that seemed to take place. And it looked like some people had a hard time finding their seats, but once the bell rang he would be able to get on them about that. Of course, only when it seemed like a mutual drama did he keep quiet. When he noticed JJ and Jamie, he frowned. "JJ, please find a seat and your own hat." He said out loud. This was going to be a long class period and the bell hadn't even rang yet. Then, glancing over to Natasha, he had to keep from raising an eyebrow at the bubbly girl. It seemed like a silly question among all of the gossip. "Fine, Natasha. Take your seat."

Mary heard Aaron, but wasn't going to even look at him. "Actually, I think I do. The lord loves you, Aaron, but until you can repent honestly, I don't want to talk to you. Now go away. I'm reading," she said, turning the page of her Bible. Mary had trusted Aaron, and she had been deeply hurt. Honestly, she understood how Jamie might be feeling right about now. He could have led her on, just like Aaron had with her. Coach Brooks could have been just another Aaron Nash.
Since Aaron had walked away, Oceana focused her attention on Tommy. "I'm gonna have to steal my boyfriend, Tommy. I'm being an attention whore today," she informed the boy. She couldn't help it. It had been so long since they had spent quality time together. To Brandon, she pushed a purple lock of hair behind her ears. "Come sit with me"
Willow glared at Shayne, following him with her eyes. "You better watch it, Shayne"
"Or what?" he asked, looking at her. "You gonna sick Stacey on me? Cause you can't send Abigail, she's already in trouble"
"What?" Willow suddenly felt out of the loop. Why was she out of the loop? She created the loop!
"Didn't you hear? The article was by her, and she never had permission. At least, that's what Marcus told me"
Willow frowned. Had Abigail put her name on that article? She wasn't supposed to. Willow needed to do some damage control here. Abigail was her right-hand girl, she was too high up in the food chain to have to get in trouble! She would need to pin it on someone else. Tapping her nails on her desk, Willow stood up. She knew who she would have to sacrifice. Neveah was, after all, the newbie in the clique. And it was her job to take the heat for these things.
Walking past her brother, Willow rested her hands on her hips and looked at Mr. Maxwell. "Mr. Maxwell? I need to speak to you. It's about what happened in the Grapevine this morning" she spoke in a low voice. Willow hated to sacrifice one of her clique members like this, and she rarely had to. This was just one of those instances when she had to give someone up.
JJ rolled his eyes at the teacher and nodded, to let him know that he had heard him. "No hats in class," he told Jamie, even though he was wearing a backwards hat of his own. With that, he threw the hat across the room and sat down, flinging a rubber band at the back of Tommy's head.
Tara spotted Audrey and smiled, standing up and taking the seat right by Audrey's. "Hi," she said, setting her bag down. "Thank god. Being new really sucks when you don't have a best friend anymore," she informed her. And it really did. Tara was still dealing with being bullied over what had happened between her parents in the hallway. And now, Neveah wasn't even speaking to her. Tara honestly didn't get why, she hadn't done anything. The two had been best friends for fifteen years, and then suddenly Neveah didn't want to have anything to do with her.
Mallory grinned. "Close your eyes," she said, before setting a clown nose and shoes on his desk for him. "I know it probably wouldn't be your first choice, but you're so funny and I thought it was perfect," she explained to him, fixing her overalls strap as she smiled at him. "I just had to get something for my Prince Charming and this called out to me. What do you think?"
Matt shrugged, glaring harshly at Jack. He knew that she probably expected him to be talkative and outgoing like he had been the last time she lived here. But the teenager had changed a lot since then. He had gotten more daring, and, apparently, a lot more dangerous. The old Matt would never have lit fireworks and set them off in Jack's home. And he knew it was a mistake, because now Jack was constantly keeping him on guard regarding his siblings. Oh, how he wished he had succeeded in killing him.
Jack's eyebrows raised. "An ass?" he repeated. Didn't this girl like him before the dance? He was sure that she had. Jack didn't want to admit that the dynamics had changed since then, even if nobody knew that he was responsible for the massacre. Walking over to her, he gave a charming smile, trying to get back into the groove. "Now, come, luv, I'm not that bad. I just don't like indoor fireworks, that's all.
Matt looked at him, but didn't say anything. He would love to expose him, right there and then. But he had Aidan to think of. He was the one who Jack could come in direct contact with. Shaking his head, he leaned back in his seat. He would love for class to be over already.
"Yes, sir!" Natasha said with a giggle, as she saluted him and bounced into a seat beside Asriel. As soon as she was sitting, Natasha became lost in her own little world, taking her textbook out, which had a pink, sparkly wrapper and had been highlighted in hot pink. Natasha wasn't sure when the next test was, but she wanted to keep up her perfect score. She prided herself in her 100's in the Media Immersion class. If only she was doing this well in some of her other classes.

Danny looked up from his desk to Willow, absently tapping a pen against the edge. He didn't want to be approached right now; he was ready for the bell to ring so he could hurry this up. Expectantly, he looked at Willow and when she mentioned the Grapevine, looked vaguely interested but he didn't think she could give him more than he already knew. "I'll be addressing that, so unless you have information I don't already have, sit down and wait. Class is about to start." Danny replied; of course he wasn't in the best of moods. But, the article that had gotten into the paper without him knowing accounted for that, not to mention the horrible gossip that was surfacing around the school.
"Don't be like that, Mary. I still want to see you." He said, as if that counted. He didn't want to repent. He didn't do anything wrong, plus, he wasn't into that Jesus Saves thing. He was trying to get her not to make a completely big deal about it. It seemed like that wasn't going to happen, however.
Brandon chuckled and stood to sit with Oceana. "Be an attention whore all you like," he teased. Though Tommy didn't mind and just nodded in response. Then, as a rubber band hit the back of his head, he turned around and looked at JJ, raising an eyebrow. What was he doing trying to bully him for?
"Seriously?" He asked, then leaned down to pick the rubber band up off of the floor and proceeded to fling it right back at JJ, to make a point before he turned around to face the front of the room again, knowing the bell was probably only a minute away from ringing.
Audrey looked at Tara and smiled. "What's her problem, anyway?" She asked, curiously. She knew what it was like to be new, since it wasn't as if she had been at Degrassi long. So, the idea of it being hard not to have a best friend was completely understandable as far as she was concerned. Of course, she was more than happy to befriend Tara. They had a lot of fun together, after all.
As Jack approached Alanna, she grinned right back at him. "Hey, sweetheart you were the one being an ass, not me. When you're not acting the part, you don't look like one." She replied, though raised an eyebrow at the indoor fireworks part. "What?" She had liked Jack and still thought he was cute and charming. But, she also liked Matt and so when it came down to it, she was going to try to cheer him up first. So if she thought Jack happened to be being an ass, she'd say it. It didn't change anything really. People could be jackasses sometimes and she didn't like how he was treating Matt.
At the surprise, Aidan closed his eyes and when he opened them, he couldn't help but laugh. "I love it!" He beamed, and even went as far as to put the clown nose on. Sure, he would probably be told to take it off, but why not?
Asriel looked over at Natasha, watching her a moment before he nodded to her. "Hey, how's it going?" Sure, he noticed how pink and bubbly she was and that really was too much pink. But, she was hot and obviously, despite being so brightly colored, she wasn't cheap.

Mary looked up, blinking. "Why, so you can use me again to cheat on your girlfriend. I already had to reclaim my virginity once, Aaron. I'm not in the business of letting scumbags like you take it anymore." She spoke strongly, despite the message that she was getting across. Mary had no shame in having purified herself and becoming a virgin again. And as far as Aaron using her, she felt like it was his mistake to be ashamed of, not hers. "Now, the bell is about to ring so I would appreciate being allowed to finish my chapter."
Oceana waited until he was seated, then slipped in his lap, running her hand through his hair. "Mom's not going to be home this weekend," she informed him with a smile. Sure, she had been forbidden to see him after she had snuck off to LA. But if her mother wasn't there, then what was the harm? "And I promise that the goat will be safe out of reach," she added with a giggle.
Willow shrugged casually, flipping her dark hair. "All right. I mean, I'm sure you already know who put the article in the paper for Abigail, so I guess you don't need me." she smirked at him. There was no way he had Neveah's name, because Willow hadn't authorized it to be leaked. So, after she gave him the hint of what information she had, she didn't turn to go back to her seat. Instead, she watched him expectantly. He would be asking for a name, she was sure of it.
JJ rolled his eyes. Normally, he wouldn't be picking on people like Tommy. But he felt the need to take the absense of his girlfriend and infant daughter out on someone. So, when it was thrown back, JJ picked it up, smirking. Then, as soon as Tommy turned back around, he flung it at him again, snickering as he did so.
"Beats me," Tara said, and she didn't know what the problem was. "I guess she suddenly doesn't want a friend who runs protests. It's whatever. I don't need her." Yes, yes she did. But she was feeling very rejected right now, by both her mother and her best friend. So, she was putting up a front. "Do you wanna hang out or something after school? I really don't want to go home right away with Mr. Grr over there in a bad mood," she said, nodding to her father. Oh, she could tell that her dad was pissed about something, and she was sure that it was the article. But hey, she hadn't written it, nor had she put it in the paper. So she didn't want to deal with the pissed off mood he was in. She figured she'd make her way home later that evening, when he had cooled off.
Mallory grinned. "Looks good," she said, reaching over and squeaking his nose with a giggle. She had figured it was an Aidan thing. Mallory had missed his jokes and dorkiness. "Hey, do me a favor?" she asked him with a grin, ready with just about the lamest request ever. But who cared? It would be fun.
When she questioned it, he shrugged and gestured to Matt. "He knows what I'm talking about," he said and since Mr. Maxwell had stated that class was about to start, he walked away and took a seat across the room, leaving Matt to fend for himself. Of course, Matt could simply rat him out. But he didn't think he would. Not with as much as there was at stake.
Matt looked at Alanna and shook his head. "Don't ask," he tried to speak roughly, but it was more like a request. He didn't want to have to explain himself to anyone. It was hard to do, especially since he found it hard to justify without giving away Jack's secret. But he couldn't. He just couldn't.
Natasha looked over and smiled warmly. "Oh, hi! Uhm..." she paused, thinking for a moment. "I forget your name. But it's going fabulous! My daddy took me shopping over the weekend, and I got new seat covers for my convertible. I haven't used my credit card in so long, it felt so good, you know?"

She wasn't going to sit down fast, was she? Danny didn't look completely impressed with Willow and not as interested as perhaps he should have been. He wasn't in a good mood and as the clock ticked away, he glanced away for a moment to the clock on the wall and then back to Willow. "If you have another name, you can give it to me after class." Of course, he couldn't help but wonder how she would have that type of information anyway. "But, right now, I want you to sit down." With that, he waved her away from his desk, in hopes that she would sit down like he asked. And he would get back to her on it later, but he wasn't sure what she was about to claim and so he wasn't going to put too much credibility into it right away.
How did one even reclaim their virginity? Initially, he might have wondered if she really thought it was possible, but apparently she did. "Scumbag? Don't be like that, we had fun." And he didn't plan to leave her alone just yet. The bell would ring and then he'd sit down, but for now, he didn't bother to. He still had a little bit of time left.
The rubber band hit him again and this time Tommy leaned down, grabbed it and kept it. "Dude, knock it off." He said as he turned back to look at him. Really, he had no idea why he was picking on him. But, it was more annoying than anything else. "Don't you have nerds to pick on or something?" He asked, not that he was trying to get him to go bully someone else really-- he just didn't want bands snapped at the back of his head. Not to mention, as a jock, that wasn't something that happened often, if at all. Most people left him alone.
"Maybe she's just going through some stupid phase." Audrey offered; she didn't know. Sometimes friends went off the deep end. It wasn't fair and she didn't know what Neveah's problem was, but Audrey wasn't about to turn her back on a friend anytime soon. At the question, she looked towards the front of the room and stifled a small laugh. "I thought he was looking kind of grumpy." Then, nodding, she grinned. "But, sure, I'll save you from the grr-monster." She assured. And she knew she wouldn't want to home to an upset parent either, so it was understandable.
Brandon leaned up when she slipped into his lap and kissed her. "Yeah?" He asked, and while he knew they weren't supposed to see each other, he didn't care. At least not as long as no one was home to catch them. "Looks like I know where I'll be this weekend." As she mentioned the goat, he chuckled and shook his head. "It better be." Goats were creepy. He couldn't help that they freaked him out an awful lot.
Alanna gave a quizzical look at Matt after Jack's comment. "What'd you do?" She asked, even though he told her not to tell. She couldn't help but be hit with some curiosity. She liked Matt. He had been her friend before she moved the first time. And even though he seemed to change a lot, she didn't treat him any differently than she had before, really.
"It's Asriel." He replied smoothly, then smiled. "You have a credit card of your own?" He asked, wondering how much money she had on said credit card. It would be interesting to see how much money she had and how quickly he might be able to get on her better side. If he could, then maybe some of that wealth would appear to him.
Aidan laughed when she squeaked the nose. "It's awesome, right?" He asked, then at the favor request he looked at her with wonder. "Sure, anything, what is it?" He trusted that whatever she asked was going to be completely doable.
And at that moment, the bell rang. Immediately, Danny tossed his pen back onto the desk and stood up to address the classroom. "Quiet down." He commented, towards the students that seemed to forget that once the bell rang it was time to be quiet. Then, glancing over to Brandon and Oceana, he refrained from rolling his eyes and instead cleared his throat. "Sorry, am I interrupting your date? I know it's hard to believe, but those chairs are meant for one person." And hopefully that got them to part and for the girl to go her own seat. "Give it up, John Travolta and leave the girl alone." Danny added glancing to Aaron and pointing to the desk that he had been leaning against to talk to Mary. The way he was blatantly trying to hit on some girl in the middle of a classroom gave him vague thoughts of Grease somehow. And Aaron quickly slid into a seat, not arguing. Then, skimming around the room, he frowned at the sight of the clown. Well, that was a literal interpretation of class clown. "This isn't clown school, Pennywise." And hopefully, Aidan got the picture to take off the nose. "Right, so, if you're all ready to settle down, I'm going to take role, then we're going to talk about how a fair chunk of this school has decided to unify, not in helping each other after all the hell it's been through, but in victimizing one person." And with that, he grabbed the class list and started to call names.

Mary looked up at him. Fun? Was that what he called it? She called it heartbreaking. Shaking her head, she looked back down at her Bible. "You used me. That wasn't fun." Her voice was shaky, because she was close to tears. God, why couldn't he just leave her alone? When the bell rang, relief swam all over her face and she looked up at Mr. Maxwell with a smile, mouthing the words thank you. She set her bookmark in her Bible, closing it and clasping her hands together, ready for whatever it was that he was going to say.
Oceana giggled when he said he knew where he'd be. Today was just perfect. She had missed being around Brandon, she really did. When Danny spoke up, she swallowed and stood, sliding into the seat beside her boyfriend. "Sorry," she muttered. She didn't think he'd care, since the bell hadn't rung yet. When he mentioned the article, she looked over at Jamie. She honestly thought that they could do without the gossip during class. But Mr. Maxwell didn't sound like he would be gossiping about it, anyway.
Willow smirked. "I look forward to it," she said before returning to her seat with a smug grin. Willow knew that if Mr. Maxwell had learned anything from his time there so far, it was that Willow always knew about everything. Her girls were her eyes and ears. Even if Shania was gone now. It wasn't unreasonable to think that she knew exactly who did it. After all, she was the queen bee. It was her job to know everyone's screw-ups. If she needed to, she had enough information to destroy every single student. It was the way she kept them in line.
JJ chuckled. "too easy," he told Tommy and actually had pulled another one, but then Mr. Maxwell stood and he quickly hid it. He didn't need to get in trouble today. Especially since Mr. Maxwell looked pretty pissed. And JJ was not a stupid guy. In fact, he was the class valedictorian. He was smart enough to stop picking on people around pissed-off teachers. When he mentioned victimizing one person, he sat back, folding his arms. He didn't victimize just one person. He made sure he was fair. Equal opportunity. He victimized everyone the same. Of course, he wasn't going to speak up. Again, he wasn't stupid.
Tara grinned. "Who knows? It's like we're suddenly not friends. She better be careful, though. There's a few things her dad might be interested to know about if she decides to completely drop me." Tara had a vengeful spirit. It was really starting to show through lately, too. After all, she never would have egged Zack's house if she didn't want revenge. When her dad spoke up, she quieted down. She didn't want to get caught talking when he was pissed off. She did, however, log into the school's IM and pointed to the computer so that if Audrey wasn't already on, she'd get on.
Mallory grinned. "Take me out tonight. I don't care what we do. But I want some time with you. And I want you to wear the nose and shoes." Only Mallory would ask such a thing from Aidan. And only Aidan would be willing to do it. Anybody else would be giving her a weird look. But she didn't think Aidan would mind. Her boyfriend was a dork. And she loved that about him. As the bell rang, she pulled out her notes from class, only to learm that was not going to be the discussion. Didn't they have a test tomorrow? Maybe she wrote the date wrong. Mallory flipped over to her planner and frowned. No, it was there. Looking up, she cleared her throat. "Excuse me, Mr. Maxwell? What about the test tomorrow? Aren't we going to review?" Mallory loved being an A student. And she got nervous when there was a test she was not prepared for.
"Maybe this is more important," Shayne spoke up. He knew he was being defensive, but he couldn't help it. He liked Jamie. Besides, Shayne knew what it felt to be victimized. "We're not unified," he then said, looking at Danny. "It's just a mass majority. Unfortunately."
"Shut up. Let him talk, mate," Jack growled at Shayne. He honestly didn't care about what they were about to talk about. But he wanted on Mr. Maxwell's good side. He needed to be. It was important for him, for his image.
Matt closed his eyes. "Alanna, stop." he wasn't going to answer. He didn't need her knowing what she had done. When the bell rang, he sighed. "Finally," he muttered, ready to get this over with. Leaning back, the teenager kept his eyes straight ahead, determined not to lock eyes with Alanna. He didn't want to deal with that right now.
Natasha shrugged modestly. "Well, yeah. My daddy says that every child of his gets her first unlimited credit card when she turns sixteen. I've had it for, like, a year now." When the bell rang, she looked down at her notes, only to frown in confusion when he gave them the subject for discussion. Quickly, she flipped through the textbook, reading in the small boxes and footnotes and citations. Finally, she leaned over. "What chapter is this?" she whispered to Asriel.
oh, no. Jamie felt her cheeks burning. She did not want to talk about that! Standing up, she gave Danny a pitiful look. "Oi'm not feelin so well, suh. Can oi see the nurse?" she asked, wanting to get out of there. She knew what they were about to talk about. And she knew she was about to die of embarrassment.
Stacey looked up at her and smirked. "Aww, what's wrong, Jamie? Didn't use protection?" she asked. Hey, she was practically begging for that. It was just too easy. Jamie shook her head and this time, without waiting for permission, grabbed her backpack and headed for the door. She wanted to crawl in a hole and die.

"I didn't mean it like that, you know it." Okay, so he used a lot of people, because he got angry at Lindsey and cheated on her. And at the end of the day, he was always going to go back to her, because he loved her. He didn't want anyone else in the long-run, but that didn't mean that he wanted Mary to hate him either. He wanted it to go back to how it was and even though he was told to sit down, he still tried to talk, voice quiet, but it didn't help any because Danny had his eyes in that direction again.
"Leave her alone." He reminded him, then nodded a little to Mary. He could tell the advances weren't wanted. And at the same time, Aaron needed to quiet down after the bell. When the rest of the students seemed to be doing what he wanted, it was better. Though, apparently some of them still felt the need to speak up.
"You're a hard one to cross, Tara." Audrey replied, but with an approving smile. Of course, once Mr. Maxwell started to talk, she went quiet, only to glance at Tara's computer then quickly logged on too. It was better to talk over that than to risk getting in trouble with an already pissed off teacher.
Aidan beamed at the request and nodded. "You don't even have to ask twice." He would have enjoyed it, really. And he planned to do it. Aidan didn't see the point in not having fun or acting completely silly. It was fun. Of course, the comment towards the nose didn't go unnoticed, but he didn't move to take it off either and just focussed forward.
"Apparently, no one uses their hands anymore." Danny commented offhandedly, to address each of the students that had just spoken out of turn. "But, since you've brought up relevant points... Yes, there's a test tomorrow. No, we aren't reviewing and you can ask the mass majority why that is. With that said, any specific questions about the chapter, you can bring to me after class, or after school and I'll answer them and put you in the right direction. Everything on the test is in the book. It's not new information, so if you've paid attention and read, you should be in good shape. If not, you might want to open your book." The end on the test was addressed to the entire class. "Unfortunately, what the majority does sometimes affects what the rest of us have to put up with." He added over to Shayne and to try to keep anyone from saying that they weren't all that way. He knew not all of them were guilty, but they needed to sit through it too.
"Come on, what is it?" Alanna asked, leaning over from her chair to get closer to him to ask, though noticing that the teacher was getting on other students about talking, she leaned back in her chair and quieted, but kept passing glances at Matt.
Unlimited credit card? Suddenly, Asriel was seeing who he was determined to make his new best friend. Screw used clothes. He could have anything he wanted with a credit card like that. And hey, befriending someone you might not usually was a lot of work. So, he wasn't really doing anything wrong. "Is that so? Maybe we should go shopping sometime, me and you." He offered, then looked at his book and back up at the teacher, he hadn't been paying attention and shrugged. "I'm not sure."
The exchange between Jamie and Stacey wasn't gotten to fast enough and Danny looked at Jamie. "Jamie, please sit back down." His voice was nicer to hers than it would have been if anyone else stood up. But, given that she was the victim of the article, that was understandable. Then back to addressing the class again, "Also, if any of you want to make any snide comments, know that I'm not tolerating any form of bullying and if that means sending half of the class to detention, I'll do it. And because Stacey decided to be such a good example, she's the first on the list." He was taking it all incredibly seriously and he was going to make sure that they did too.

Willow rolled her eyes at Stacey. "Really? Have a heart." Like she did? Willow was the reason the article existed to begin with. But she wouldn't admit to that. Willow wasn't about to accept a detention. While she was controlling and she was the sole reason people got destroyed, she never accepted the blame for it. "I think it's disgusting" she added, looking at Danny again.
"I agree." Mary spoke up, before remembering the hand thing. So, quickly correcting herself, she raised her hand, but then continued before being acknowledged. "I don't know the girl who wrote the article. But what business was it of hers? First Thessalonians four eleven. Mind your own business. She acts like it's her duty to expose...Jamie, is it?" she was still learning the people who came here since she left Africa. "Sure, what happened was a crime, and it shouldn't have happened. But that news is for the school board. Not the student body."
Oceana listened before slowly raising her hand. "Can they actually expel her for that?" she wanted to know. That was the point of the article. Abigail thought that Jamie should have to leave. Oceana didn't have much of an opinion, but she didn't think it was right to make her leave. Whether or not it was her fault.
JJ watched the discussion. He didn't want to be involved. So, he quickly got bored. Waiting for Danny to turn his back, he grabbed a straw from his backpack and sent a spitball flying in Aaron's direction. Hey, at least he wasn't making snide comments! JJ knew when to say things and when not to. And his comments needed to be saved until no teacher was around.
Tara was far more interested in her new friend than the class discussion. Clicking on Audrey's name, she typed in, "it might have something to do with Willow. Cuz apparently Willow hates me and suddenly Neveah's going shopping w/ her?" she sent it as she kept a cautious eye on her dad. She understood why he was so angry. And she wasn't about to purposely push him further. So, she kept her mouse on the minimize button, and if he were to come near her, she'd minimize the chat.
Mallory frowned and looked down. She'd wait until after class, then ask him for a study guide. She might even ask him to give her a practice test. Anything to get an A. Well, anything legal, anyway. She knew that some kids might be tempted to cheat. Not Mallory. She loved school way too much to risk that. Looking over at Aidan, she smiled endearingly before pulling out a piece of paper. "Study buddies?" she folded it and slid it to his desk. Hey, she was sure he could use the study time too.
Matt buried his head in his hands. He was trying to drown out the voices, but when Alanna pushed it, he glared at her. "Leave it alone already!" he growled at her. He didn't mean to snap that much. But he was already under a lot of stress. He wished he had something to get the edge off. But he had no idea how to get his hands on that stuff, and the one person he thought might wasn't there.
Natasha whimpered as she continued searching. To Asriel, she nodded "sure." she said, distractedly. Finally, she gave up. She just could not find it. Immediately, her hand went up and she sat in silence. Unlike some of her classmates, she knew what it meant to raise her hand to speak. She watched Mr. Maxwell, waiting for her turn so she could ask him where the information was.
Stacey glared at him. "You've got to be kidding me." Detention??? "I don't do detention," she informed him with a smug attitude. She wasn't about to show remorse for what she had said. She was pretty proud of herself for the comment. She watched Jamie sulk back to her seat and sit down, smirking and waving at her.
"Do you really 'ave to do this?" Jamie asked him. She would much rather it not be discussed. She wanted everyone to forget all about it. And if they turned it into a class discussion, it was not going to be forgotten about that. She did take her seat, but the brunette was close to tears. Didn't he realize that he was just making things worse?

"It is disgusting, but please, your hand, use it." Because this wasn't going to be a complete open debate, not where they had run of the floor. He wanted hands raised and he'd call on them. Because he was more than ready to hand out detentions to quiet people down. He was bothered by the entire situation. Immediately, his focus switched over to Mary, not that amused with the hand raising after she already started.
At Oceana's question, however, he shook his head. "No, they can't. What you're dealing with here, if the article is true, and remember there is no proof in the paper that it is, is a minor and a teacher relationship that will have repercussions on the teacher, not the student. Coach Brooks can potentially lose his license and have a jail sentence on his head if it's true." He explained and rightfully so. If the article was true, then Danny had no problem with the idea that the guy lost his license and had to face the consequences. As a teacher, he was disgusted and as a parent, he would have been ready to kill a teacher for coming anywhere near his kids.
"That's fucked," Tommy muttered, because he had liked Jimmy. He was a good coach and while he wasn't heartbroken over him leaving; the guy was cool, he didn't see how they could say that he did anything wrong. Jamie had to have known what she was doing. She could have ruined his life.
"I hope you and Stacey are friends, because you're number two." Danny responded instantly, only to have Aaron crack up.
"Man, fail!" He said, looking back to his friend and laughing.
"Are you hoping to be the third?" Danny asked and immediately Aaron shut up and sank down a little in his desk. Of course that was when he was also hit with a spitball and quickly wiped at it.
"Dude!" He looked backwards, and Danny didn't say anything on that just yet and instead raked a hand through his hair before readdressing the students.
"The idea that any of you think punishment is an option for her is disgusting, at best. In the media, it's often known as slut shaming. Crude, I know, but it's effective and it means that the big world outside of high school also has a problem with this. It's the idea of exalting a man and bashing a woman for her sexuality. You probably see it all of the time, especially with the 'other woman' in celebrity break-ups. And men, you should be offended too. For someone as highly respected as Mr. Brooks seems to be, this article spins him, perhaps unintentionally, as an incredibly weak coward that can't say no."
"Could be. Willow's a bitch. She has control over everyone. Why would she wanna be friends with her anyway?" Audrey didn't like Willow, but she had never really gotten along with the popular girls. So, that wasn't completely surprising. She wanted to do her own thing, not be involved in some clique.
"Jesus, fine." Alanna replied and sat back in her seat, although she was still concerned and although she dropped it for now, it didn't mean that he would drop it for good.
Danny raised an eyebrow at Stacey. "You're going to be becoming a pro at them if you keep it up." He warned. He didn't care if she didn't do detentions. She did now. And to Jamie, he nodded and that was all. He did have to do this. And right now, he had to call on the hand that was in the air. He was internally grateful Natasha had waited to be called on. "Yeah, Natasha?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Maxwell. But I'm totally lost here. What chapter are we on?" Natasha asked as soon as he had called on her. She didn't think it was a dumb question. But apparently, everyone else did. Because as soon as she said it, she had eyes on her from all directions. "what?" she asked, confused.
JJ snickered. "Man, I think you're in the wrong class, Barbie. Special ed is downstairs," JJ taunted her. Finally, he had something to say. But at least he wasn't being snide to Jamie. And really, Natasha had it coming. Unless she was joking, but the blond was too dumb to be joking. And his point was proven when she blinked back surprise, but then pouted.
"That's not very nice. I can't help it. I tried to catch up on my own." she informed him sadly. Her explanation must have sounded funny, though, because she could hear a couple of snickers. She really did not understand why, either. Blinking, she looked up at her teacher, waiting for his answer.
"he was stupid, not a coward," Shayne muttered under his breath. It wasn't exactly a comment intended to contribute towards the discussion. But he thought it was true. Everyone knew that Jamie had a crush on Coach Brooks. He should have put a stop to it. Called her parents up, had her moved out of the house, and transferred her from his classes. But the Coach never did. If there was one thing he knew, it was that this was not all Jamie's fault.
Jamie closed her eyes, looking down. Maybe she should never have changed the way she dressed to get his attention. She looked at Tommy when he commented and cleared her throat. She bit her lip, before finally raising her hand. God 'elp me. She had no idea why, but she was about to join in the converstaion. After hearing Stacey and now Tommy, she wanted to defend herself...or something.
Tara sighed and sent Audrey a hurt look before answering. She's always wanted to be popular. I guess Willow is like a goddess or something to her. She's always complaining that she never even has had a chance. And now I guess she is. But I mean, I'd like to be popular, but there's no way in hell I'd ditch my friends. That's why I'm not lol

What chapter? Danny looked at Natasha quizzically for a moment. "We're not reading from the chapter right now." He informed her, figuring that she'd figure out that they were discussing the article rather than anything from the book. The book wasn't going to be giving them any helpful information on that and as JJ spoke up again, he gave him a look.
"That's enough, Mr. Yorke." He added, and he would have thrown a detention at him too, but he'd been running detention lately and it looked like he was already on the list from now until forever, so he didn't know that it would matter to even bother. He was probably going to be in there anyway.
Friends are more important than popularity anyway. You shouldn't take that crap from her. It's stupid. Friends had to be more important than anything else. Popularity just wasn't worth it. And she felt bad for Tara. No one wanted to have to lose their best friend, especially not just because someone felt like being popular. That was no excuse. And she didn't think real friends would even ask that of someone. You shouldn't have to choose.
Danny shook his head, "I'm not here to debate what type of man Coach Brooks is. If it's true, we're dealing with a statutory rape issue, which if you all believe that it's true, it brings us to a new low at who we choose to pick on." As he saw Jamie's hand go up, he frowned a little. Did she really want to make a comment now? Danny didn't want to hand her over to the wolves after all that she was already going through. Teenagers weren't nice. Hell, neither was the adult world sometimes, but she had a right to speak for herself so Danny nodded to her. "Jamie."

Natasha looked around, and she did notice a few newspapers out, so she took her copy out as well. But the thing was, Natasha had not gotten her paper first thing that morning. And by the time she did, the article had been pulled out of the paper. So once more, she flipped through pages, completely confused about what was going on. Finally, she tapped Asriel's shoulder. Maybe he could help her.
Jamie slowly stood up. "Oi'd loike ta point out that Oi'm still 'ere. Jimmy--" she quickly caught herself, closing her eyes. Oh, she could hear the whispers. She distinctly heard at least one person whisper did she just call him Jimmy? "Coach Brooks--, 'e disappeared before the article even came out. If 'e's the victim, why did 'e leave?" she knew why. Because he had been blackmailed. Jamie still remembered that day. He called her a mistake and left. He had never been so cold before. Jamie looked down, pushing a lock of hair behind her ears. "Everybody makes mistakes. Oi di'int ruin 'is career. 'e did." she spoke softly, forcing herself not to cry.
"With your help" Stacey said, half coughing to make it sound like she wasn making a snide comment.
Jamie looked at her. "'e could have said no"
"Oh, so it is true." Stacey shot right back.
Jamie swallowed. "Not the way Abigail wrote it," she stated, staring right at Stacey now. She didn't even look at anyone else. It was all Stacey.
"But it's true. You and the Coach. Wow, how low can you be? Isn't he like, related to you? I sure hope you don't get pregnant, otherwise those will be some messed up kids"
"All roight! It's true. 'E's not related to me, you plastic wench. At least know what yer talking about before you staht spouting out stupidity. For someone who acts loike she knows it all, you make Ulyssus sound loike the smahtest kid in school" Jamie snapped at her. She must have said something right, because she could hear chuckles. Stacey, though, wasn't happy in the least.
"How dare you-" she started in, when Mallory looked over.
"Will you shut up already?" Mallory would never normally talk like this, but Stacey was getting on her nerves. She was acting worse than Willow! At least the queen bee knew better than to mouth off.
Tara paused for a moment, watching the Stacey-Jamie feud. She also noticed that Willow was looking at Stacey the same way she had looked at her. Shaking her head, she re-read what Audrey had put before answering. She texted me yesterday, so I thought we were cool. But now, she's ignoring me all over again. Maybe she wants to be friends in private or something? I dunno, she hasn't actually talkled to me about it. I'm not too keen on talking stuff out either lol

This was one of the reasons why Danny didn't think it was a good idea that Jamie spoke up. And then, just like he feared, it caused a complete feud in the middle of class. He didn't interrupt it right away. But, towards the end, he had enough of it. "Enough. Any more for you Stacey and you'll be taking a trip to Mrs. Stone's office along with the stack of saturday detention I'm already ready to give you." His voice was stern, fed up with the way that this was going. "Jamie, you need to calm down too." Not that he blamed her for getting worked up, but this needed to stop. To hear that it was true, however, only made him more disgusting with the teacher involved. And part of him hoped that it wasn’t true, because he didn’t want to think of something like that going on. But, apparently it had. “You didn’t do anything wrong here.” He added to Jamie, because she hadn’t. Then looking to Mallory, he frowned. "Do you want to them?" He asked, referring to Tommy and Stacey and her little outburst. Yeah, he wanted her to shut up too. But, he wasn't allowing an open floor for them to say it. Unfortunately, as he looked at Mallory, he happened to notice the kid in the clown nose, yet again. The kid didn't take hunts. Great.
"Hey, clown. Take the nose off." He said, thrown off a little by the sudden pouting face on the student.
"But, if I take it off, how will I smell?" He asked, as if Danny had just asked him something so outrageous. To that, Danny had to resist facepalming right there in front of the class.
"Take the nose off, or I will." He added and Aidan took the clown nose off, setting it down on his desk. Once that was done, he walked back towards the board. "Since you guys are having such a difficult time understanding the situation, I'll give you something to visualize." He grabbed a marker from the board and immediately started to write down names, most of which he was sure would be random to the entire class. He only paused a couple of times to remember a few and went on with the list. When it was finished, he stepped away from it. "Anyone want to guess what these people have in common?" He asked. "I'll give you a small hint, each one was between the ages of 13 and 18 in the last twelve years or so. But there's something else that ties them together."
Asriel looked over again when she tapped him. "What?" He asked and he had gone back to paying attention for a moment, but he was bored in class. Actually, that wasn't uncommon for him in general, but he was especially bored at the lecture.
Friends in private? Seriously? If she wants to be your friend, why in private? That's dumb. Audrey had looked up during the feud, but then averted her eyes back to the screen. Every so often she looked up, as if paying attention so that, hopefully, the teacher wouldn't catch on.
