It had been a long day. It was all deadlines and new assignments. He'd just returned to the house after a lengthy run, managed to shower and change before he went down to the kitchen. It was quiet. Though, he didn't seek to find anyone to change that. Except, he flipped on a stereo on his way to the kitchen, to try to offset the quiet and alleviate some of the boredom that was plaguing him this afternoon. He could have gone out, or started in on his homework, but he wasn't in the mood for either. While normally sociable and outgoing, Tommy didn't feel like constantly going out. There were times he wanted to hang back at home and today was one of those days. After school, the most he had done was go on a run and now he didn't plan to go back out again unless he had to. One day without going out with his friends or hanging out wasn't going to kill him.
Hungry, Tommy had rifled through the kitchen for a while before locating a pizza to shove into the oven. That'd have to work. While he absently wondered where any of his siblings were, he was also well aware that most of them had lives that could put them just about anywhere. After the timer was set on the stove, Tommy found a newspaper and hopped up on the kitchen counter, legs dangling from it as he looked over the paper, immediately flipping past any of the important news to find the sports section. He got enough about what was going on in Toronto from other sources, he didn't need to worry about that right now.

Yasmine stood in her bedroom, head tilted as she looked at her stomach. There was a long, thin line, where she had been cut. That was the extent of her injuries. She had passed out from the blood loss, though, and spent a couple of days in the hospital. But aside from that and the stiches on her stomach, Yasmine was actually okay. She wasn't depressed in the least, as she probably should have been. At least, that's what it seemed like; a lot of kids at school were completely traumatized from the dance. Instead, Yasmine felt lucky to be alive.
She quickly buttoned up her top and pulled her hair into a tight pony tail. She had been cooped up enough at home the past couple of weeks, she didn't want to be sheltered anymore. She wanted to get out there and live. She had been bland and boring before. She needed to make some changes. And the first change Yasmine wanted to make was doing more than just sitting at home, watching the news. She had been fascinated by the Sniper before. But now that she had been a victim, she had better things to do.
She "borrowed" a mini skirt from Nesse while she was with her dad over the weekend. Now, she looked at the black skirt, a smile on her face. She had never worn anything like this, which was why she was. She didn't wear a different top than usual just yet. She wanted to get used to this first. But honestly, she was tired of being cute. She wanted to be sexy.
She slipped into a pair of flip flops and went down the stairs, she would have left had she not heard the stereo playing. Instead, she looked around, deciding to see who it was. When she opened the kitchen door and saw her brother, she bit her lip.
Yasmine still felt unnoticed by her siblings. That hadn't changed. Bianca and Summer weren't even around anymore. Tommy was the only one who seemed to actually see her. Otherwise, Yasmine was invisible. "Hey," she spoke up, looking at her older brother. He might have paid attention before, but that didn't mean he'd be willing to do what she wanted. She understood that she was in a different grade from Tommy, and in a different crowd. Still..."Uhm.." she cleared her throat nervously. She wasn't so sure how to put it.
