"Guys. Come on, the bell rang five minutes ago." Ronnie called out, trying to assert her authority, but it was hard to do. Ronnie didn't really come to grips with teaching teenagers just yet. And anyway, Mr. Maxwell wasn't in here. She didn't know why, and she was trying to hold up the fort, but it was hard.
"Hey, guys! We have an announcement to make!" Mike called out, clapping his hands before gesturing to Natasha.
"Ok. Ever since the dance, a bunch of kids totally moved away. And we're coming really close to having the Spirit Squad cancelled for the rest of the year. And I mean, we can't let that happen, can we? This school still needs spirit! So come on and sign up! It'll be totally fun!" When she was done, she set a clipboard back down, but nobody was really paying attention to her, either. The class was teacher-free (for the most part) and they were taking advantage of it.
"So, is Coach Brooks really gone?" Stacey asked Willow
"It's true. He was a creep, anyway. I mean, who sleeps with students?" Willow said, tossing her hair. "But, nobody is going to say a word of it to Rachel. Or they'll have me to deal with. Understand?"
Sitting in the corner, JJ was just messing around with a paper airplane. When he spotted Mike, he threw it at his head, snickering.
"JJ, grow up" Mike said, rolling his eyes.
JJ shook his head. "whatever" standing up, he set his foot out and tripped the next person who walked by, who happened to be Tara.
"Hey!" she said, looking at him.
"What? You gonna cry to daddy? Or are you gonna pour coffee on me?" JJ taunted, coming in close on her.
"Leave her alone, mate" Jack intervened, standing up. JJ looked at him and rolled his eyes, turning and sitting back down.
Tara looked at Jack. "Thanks."
"It's no problem. I know what being new is like. I got here back in January. The name's Jack" he said, giving a charming smile.
Tara practically melted at the smile. "Uhm. T-tara"
"That's a pretty name. A pretty name for a pretty girl" he said, winking at her.
"Thanks" she said, blushing.

Danny expected pure chaos by the time that he got to the classroom. Five minutes might not have felt like a lot to him when he was dealing with being in the sudden need of a protective detail. By the time he arrived at the classroom, he figured that they were going to be rowdy and unkempt and while he knew there was a student teacher in there, he was well aware what it was like to try to deal with a bunch of teenagers when you were a student teacher. It wasn't easy in the least bit, so he sympathized, but he couldn't be there right away. Now, that he was, however, he strolled through the door casually, in comparison to how he'd felt when there was suddenly a cop around to see him.
"I hope everyone's gotten their socializing out for the hour. If you have anymore disruptions, announcements or hearts to break, I suggest you finish it up. And for those of you that were struggling to get your homework done before the bell, I hope you used the time wisely." He said and actually sent a look to one of the students, because it was more than obvious that they were rushing the assignment that he'd be picking up. He'd lingered by the door beforehand, just long enough to gauge what was going on and he slipped up the aisle and purposely tapped Tara's desk, in a subtle way of telling her to stop talking. Normally, he wouldn't mind, but he saw Mr.Charming and that wasn't going anywhere good. He wasn't going to completely call her out on it and he did a good job at separating being a dad from a teacher when it came to having his daughter in his class. But, a jock tended to want one thing that he wasn't about to support him getting from his little girl.
As he reached the front of the classroom, he picked up the airplane from the floor and looked it over before looking around. "Anyone want to claim the handiwork?" He asked, then looked around the room. "All right, so I've got a bit of an experiment, I need you guys split in half, so..." He looked around, then pointed to Tara. "Tara, you want to move over to this side and help even us out?" he asked, though it wasn't really a question and pointed to a desk on the opposite side of the room that she was on and actually the classroom was a bit uneven and she wouldn't be the only one he asked, but his ulterior motive was to seat her away from Jack. He didn't think the rest of the students would notice it, but honestly, he figured Tara was smart enough to catch on to what he was doing.

For Selena at least. She did not even bother eating. There was a big game coming up, so she was outside on the field practicing. Not that Selena really needed it. But practice makes perfect. Right? But she had wound up losing track of time. So when she looked down at her watch, she realized that the class bell should be ringing any second. So, grabbing her soccer ball, she jogged into the building and walked into the bathroom. She set down the ball by her feet and turned on the facet, splashing some nice cold water into her face. Wiping her face off, she picked the ball back up and walked out into the nearly empty hallway and to her class, walking into the class just seconds before the teacher had. Ignoring everyone else, Selena took a seat in the far back left corner. Angel was probably one of the first ones in the classroom. She almost always is. Tardiness was not something that she particulary liked. She had on her headphones, listening to some music, completely ignoring everyone else. She just did not want to have to deal with everyone else. But as soon as Mr. Maxwell walled into the class, Angel took out her earphones and stuck her ipod inside of her purse. Nevaeh, she just did not care anymore if she was a few minutes late to her class. Or any class for that matter. Instead, Nevaeh just chilled by her locker, casually, finishing applying her make-up. Before Willow, Nevaeh didn't wear a whole lot of make-up. Well, that's changed now. Finishing up, she closed her locker and walked down the hall before entering her class. “Sorry I'm late.” she spoke casually to Mr. Maxwell. But was she? Not exactly. Ignoring Tara, Nevaeh walked over, sitting by Willow. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Collecting your jar of hearts And tearing love apart - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Word Count: 307 Tagged: Cyn & Katie Notes: Credit: Made by Daughter at caution 2.0. "Thank God" Ronnie said when Danny came inside. She might not have been too comfortable around him, but she did not like trying to run the class herself. She wouldn't be ready for that for quite a while. As soon as he came in, she escaped to the back of the classroom. Ronnie was barely surviving in this school. She wondered if she wouldn't be better suited in an elementary school. One thing she did manage to do, however, was remain a distance between herself and her superior. Ever since the incident in the hallway, she would not go within ten feet of Mr. Maxwell. She just wasn't that comfortable around him, and who could blame her? He had dumped coffee on a woman at work!
Mike watched Selena come in, a faint smile on his lips. Sure, he might have had a crush on Marissa before, but ever since the dance, Mike could only think of Selena. She was on the opposite side of the class that he was, so when Mr. Maxwell asked Tara to move, Mike's hand shot up. "Mr. Maxwell, I'll be glad to move." Please let me move he thought as he looked at the man. Selena had everything that Mike adored. And they had some stuff in common. They were both athletes, for one. Ok, so she was a soccer player and he was a male cheerleader. But hey, a sport was a sport, right? And right now, Mike would love a chance to work with her. It would give him an excuse to talk to her.
Natasha sat down, as soon as he had walked in. "Hi, Mr. Maxwell!" she called cheerfully to him. When he picked up the airplane, she giggled. "Unless it has glitter or it's scented, it's not mine!" Why would she have a paper airplane, anyway? Natasha never broke the rules. But, just in case there was any doubt, she wanted to make sure that was clear. She looked around. Nobody was taking her clipboard. Maybe they just needed a little nudge. Spotting Angel, Natasha leaned forward, took the clipboard back, and stood just long enough to set it on Angel's desk. "There you go! You totally have the look for the Spirit Squad! You should so sign up!"
Stacey gave Willow a look. Now, Stacey was not in her clique. She would never be a mindless robot for the evil bitch that was Willow Santos. She'd much rather be the evil bitch running the show. And someday, she would be. But for now, she had to smile and pretend to make nice with Willow, so that when that day happened, she could take her down. Oh, how Stacey was looking forward to that! But at the mention of Rachel, Stacey scoffed. "You mean you're still friends with that loser? Looks like our queen is losing her touch."
Willow's eyes narrowed. She was not about to me called soft! "Watch it, Torres," she hissed the warning. "It'd be a real shame if people were under the impression that you're just like your dad. I mean, not to be mean, sweetie, but you do look a little...hmm, butch, I guess is the best word for it." And that was no empty threat, either. Willow would have no problem having any one of her girls start a rumor that the other girl was, in actuality, a boy. When Neveah sat beside her, she looked over at Tara with a smirk before looking at Neveah. "I love that color on you, Neveah. So, I was thinking. Saturday. The mall. Two oclock." Even though she spoke to Neveah, Willow kept sending glances at Tara. "I mean, it's up to you. I know Tara over there has a protest planned for Saturday. But, honestly, which would you rather do? Shopping? Or getting arrested?" She might have told Neveah to drop Tara, but that did not mean she was giving her time to tell her. What she was doing now, was showing the activist that her best friend wasn't very besty anymore.
Grace had been taking some safety precautions. The officer had gone over plans with Mrs. Stone to bring some officers to search lockers the following day. She had then made a general sweep of the campus, checking anywhere that a psychotic kid could have placed a bomb or anything like that. When she was finished, she followed the map that had been given her back to Mr. Maxwell's class. Which was why she was just now getting there. She knew that it wasn't the most ideal situation, but the man's life was in danger, as well as the lives of his kids. Grace had been hoping to make a quiet entrance, and simply keep to the back of the room while Mr. Maxwell taught his class. But that didn't work like that. As soon as she had opened the door, she had eyes on her. And while the nineteen year old looked young enough to still be in high school, the police uniform had to have given it away.
JJ was the first one to look up, bored, when the door opened. He looked at her, confused. He had seen her earlier. Wasn't she gone yet? "Hey, Grace! Who're you arresting this time?" he called to her with a smug grin.
"shut up, JJ" she scowled.
"You're still hot, even if you are a cop, Grace!"
"shut up, JJ" she said again, annoyed.
"Hey, remember when I asked you to your prom and I was a sophmore?"
Grace gave him a look of annoyance. "Don't you have someone better to pick on?" she asked. Really? She wasn't even in that school anymore! She graduated two years ago!
"Not really. Mr. Maxwell isn't stimulating our minds."
Tara looked up at her dad and nodded a little. "Sure," she said, standing and grabbing her backpack. When Mike spoke up, though, she looked at her dad, in case she was told to go ahead and sit back down. In the corner of her eye, she could see Jack smiling and winking at her. A soft pink appeared on her cheeks. Her attention, however, was diverted away from Jack when Neveah walked in.
"Neveah--" she started to flag her friend down, but stopped when she saw who she sat beside. Slowly, Tara sunk back into her seat. She overheard the offer, and stood up. "No way. Neveah knows where she's gonna be on Saturday. With me, protesting at the plant on Magda street. Right, Neveah?" Why would she ever want to hang out with her? Ok, so Tara knew Neveah. Neveah had always wanted to be popular. But she never thought that she would sever their friendship in the process.
His eyes were on the cop.
Jack had been flirting with Tara, but when the cop walked in, Jack couldn't take his eyes off of her. His eyes flickered around nervously before looking down at his desk. He hadn't actually been around a cop yet. Well, except for the three questions that were asked of him about the dance. Jack didn't like seeing an officer in here. Not now. So, even though they weren't even looking at the textbook in class right then, he pulled his out and started reading. Anything to look busy.

"Yeah, I didn't think so." Danny added to the class as he tossed the airplane over onto his desk. For a moment, he acknowledged Natasha. "You don't say." No, he could have guessed that she hadn't made it. Although, he was pretty sure that he could tell that the paper wasn't pink or scented. Though, he supposed he'd have no question about whose it was if a pink airplane ever went soaring across the room. And since he wasn't going to make Tara move alone (even if he had ulterior motives), he nodded to Mike's request. He wasn't necessarily sure of his excitement to move, but he wasn't going to question it either. Just as long as the boy wasn't disruptive with it, it would be okay. He didn't plan for it to be a quiet period anyway, but any extra socializing was going to be dealt with. "Go ahead." He replied and gestured for him to find another seat on the other side of the room. "Any other volunteers?" He asked.
Tommy walked into class, fully aware that he was late, but waving a note. He had been taking a test the period before and hadn't finished it quickly, although he was sure his score was close to perfect, Tommy took his time with tests and tended to be one of the last ones to leave. When Mr. Maxwell gestured for him to come to the front of the room to hand him the note, he did. And it took just a glance at the note and a nod for Tommy to excused back to his seat. Following that, he took a seat close to Selena and proceeded to dig through his bag for his homework.
Zachary walked in directly following the cop, though he barely passed her a single glance. He was paranoid, but not about her. He was well aware that he hadn't left anything to put someone on his trail, let alone some cop that was just standing around in the classroom. Today wasn't great for him, but there were few days that were good. He was feeling semi-jumpy and the internal dialogue in his head was making him want to do nothing more than find himself a dark, quiet place to curl in on himself in. But instead, he found a desk and slumped into it, silent.
There were people coming in late, but given that he was late too, he wasn't going to hold it against them this time around. Although when Neveah walked in, he couldn't help but notice a little difference in her look, not to mention where she went to sit. "Sure, don't let it happen again." He replied, and it looked like the dark-headed boy that walked in wasn't even going to try to explain his lateness. But Danny didn't question it either, he was getting to know some of the personalities and that one tended to be silent above anything else. Apparently telling people to quiet down before hadn't gone over well, because there was still a conversation going on. He wasn't sure what was going on with Tara and Neveah, but really it was something that he'd think about later on. Sometimes he had to separate teacher from parent and because there was something going on over there between Stacey, Willow, Neveah and now Tara, Danny whistled loudly at them. "Hey, all of you are going to be stuck here on Saturday if you don't quiet down. Tara find your seat." On the opposite side of the room to Jack, preferably.
