~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*You appear just like a dream to me. Just like Kaleidoscope colors that cover me. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* It was not easy lately. Not after that night. Not after the dance. And okay, so maybe Madison had not been in the gym exactly with all of those other students. It did not matter, though. None of it mattered. Think of what could have happened. Could have been. Maddie could have been trapped. She could have been hurt. She could have been killed. Just the thought of that shook her terribly. Why did she survive? Why did she get out of that school? Why? It was not like she really had all that much to live for. All Madison was was this shy little girl who had been born in Kansas. Who lived there with both her parents. That is until her father's untimely death. Maybe if she had died...maybe she would be able to see her father again. She missed him so much. She just wanted to be with him again. To get away from this place. To be happy once more.
Like other students and teachers, Madison did get away. She did get out of the gym. Out of the school.
Madison wasn't able to sleep through the night ever since the dance. She couldn't. Her dreams had been corrupted with nightmares. Her mind had been corrupted as well. She just did not know how to cope with all of this. She did not know how to get past all of this. The killer that did all of this? He was still out there. She knew that. And for all Madison knew, he would get to her. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe in a week or two. Maybe within the next several months that would soon pass her by. But she would at least be alive. What could you say about the people that this guy got before the night of the dance? The students that he killed that night in the school? They would never see daylight again. They would never graduate from high school. Get to go off to college and be on their own. They would never have the chance to get married and have children of their very own.
She just had to get out of her home. She felt...she felt out of place. She felt like there was no one in which she could talk to. Her brother...she was extremely close to her brother. But he was once again off at rehab. And her mother...her mother treated her like some psychotic little girl. Like she needed help. She felt like everyone was walking on eggshells around her. And she hated it.
Then there was the school issue. School had been back in session for an entire week now. One whole week. But she wasn't going. Not like her mother would notice anyhow. Her mother hardly ever paid any attention to her. She was always busy with work. Sometimes, it seemed like that was all that she cared about in Madison's eyes.
It was Sunday. It had been early when the 14-year-old left her house. We're talking 5 in the morning here. She had taken a shower and grabbed her backpack. Which had two change of clothes and her favorite two books that she was planning on reading and she walked out the front door. Looking towards the driveway, the young girl signed. Of course. Her mother was still not home. She had never come home all night long. Nothing unusual there. There were a lot of nights where Anya didn't come home. Whether she was still working, or out screwing some guy, Maddie didn't really care. All she cared about was leaving, was to get away from everything.
Madison didn't even know where she was going. Nor did she really care that much. She needed to get away to anywhere. Anywhere but here. It's was now 7:30 a.m. Two and a half hours after the girl had left her house She doubted that her mother was even home yet. She doubted that her mother would even notice her absence. Which would actually make leaving all that much easier on herself. Reaching into her backpack, Madison pulled out her wallet and looked inside. $1,000. She'd been saving her money. Ever since she was very young. Babysitting. Dog-walking. Birthdays. Christmases. Every since she first received money. It wasn't like she had expenses. And there was never anything that she really wanted. Except her father back here. But nothing would ever make him come back from the dead. She knew exactly where she would be going. She wanted to go back to Kansas. To the place where she was born at. To the only place that she would ever call her home.
Turning in the opposite that she had been walking, Madison headed straight for the airport.
It honestly did not take that long to walk there. Only about half an hour or so. In which time, it was exactly 8:17 a.m. She looked around and headed towards the desk. Setting her wallet down on the counter, she cleared her throat.
The woman behind the counter looked up. “Hello there, young lady. What can I do for you?”
“When does the next flight leave for Lawrence, Kansas?”
“Okay, give me a moment and I will find that out for you Miss.” The woman then turned back to her computer and began hitting buttons on that keyboard. It took a few before she had turned back to Madison. “The next flight there is at 12:20 this afternoon.”
“How much does it cost for one ticket?”
“200.”
“Could I have one ticket, please?”
Do you have an id? You look awful young.”
“Uhm-no?”
“Then I am sorry, but I can't arrange for a ticket for you Miss. Have a wonderful day now.”
Madison rolled her eyes. “Yeah, whatever. Stick it up your ass.” That wasn't like her. To talk like that to anyone. But she just was no longer herself. Not since the night of the dance. Turning around, she walked away from the desk.
That was when a girl from her school caught her eye. Someone that would be old enough to buy a ticket.
Angel Stone.
Walking up to her, Madison had tears in her eyes. Of course, they weren't real tears, however. She was a good actress. “Excuse me. Angel, right?” She sniffed.
Angel turned around and nodded. “Yeah. What do-Hey, what's wrong?”
Madison wiped her eyes and started crying harder. “My mommy's hurt. Real bad. She's in the hospital, in a coma. I don't have anyone else here. And my big brother, he's off in Lawrence, Kansas. I need to get to him today. There's a flight that leaves at 12:20, but they won't let me buy a ticket because of my age. Could you get it for me? Please?”
Angel nodded. “My gosh sweetie. I hope everything works out for your family. I'll get it for you.”
Madison gave a simple, sweet smile and handed her the money. “Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.”
Angel smiled. “Not a problem. Give me a second.” She walked off and went up to the front desk. “Excuse me, can I get a ticket for the next flight to Lawrence, Kansas? I promised my mom I would get home as soon as possible. She's been really sick with cancer so I've been living with my half-brother.”
The woman looked up. “Oh goodness. Well, I hope that everything turns out okay. Do you have id?”
Angel nodded. “Sure do.” She pulled out her id and showed it to her. “Here you go.”
The woman looked at it before handing it back. “The next flight is at 12:20. And that will be $200.”
After getting the ticket, Angel walked back over to Madison. “Here's the ticket. I'm sorry. I never got your name though.”
“It's-” Madison looked up at her. “It's Madeline Addison.” She lied. It wasn't like she would ever see her again. Well, if she was going back to school, she would. But she was going home. And she didn't think she would even return to Toronto. So what was the harm, right? “I got to go. There's something I need to do before the plane leaves. Bye.”
“Bye, Madeline.”
And she took off. She was afraid to leave the airport. Afraid that if she did, she would never make it back in time. So, instead, she just sort of wondered around, waiting til it was time to finally leave her past behind. Forever. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* All I need, every breath that I breathe. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Tag: OPEN Outfit:Maddy's Outfit Notes: none Credit: This template was made by hpphoenix2011 @ caution 2.0. He needed to get them out of Toronto. Today.
Bruce wasn't normally this shaken up. After all, he was Bruce the Moose. But two week ago, Degrassi's spring dance was invaded by a cold-blooded killer. And like a lot of the students and teachers who were trapped, Ulyssus was in the hospital. The scary part was past; Ulyssus had lost a great amount of blood and for a while, tehy weren't sure if he was going to pull through. Bruce had never been so terrified in his entre life. Sure, when he was a kid, one of his best friends had stabbed a guy. But this was different. Drake was no serial killer. Drake never did anything like this.
Bruce was surprised when he heard how brave his son had been. How he had risked his life for a girl he didn't even know. He had never been prouder of his 17 year old Freshman. He just kept telling himself that if his son passed, then at least he went out a hero. Of course, that did not comfort nor prepare him for the death of his son. Thankfully, after ten grueling days, the doctor informed him that he was going to be ok. All Bruce needed now was rest.
That was four days ago. Bruce had been practically living in the hospital since he found out that his son was hurt. Finally, he returned home, where Xatia and Gabe had been in charge of the house. He normally would never do that. But he would have done the same for any of his children. He just had to be with Ulyssus.
Now that his son was out of the dark, though, Bruce had to care for the nine children waiting at home. Xatia was terrified. She had gotten out that night, but it didn't make her any less scared. For the first time in four years, Bruce decided that he needed to have less children in the house. The killer was still out there. What if he broke into the house at night? Bruce would never be able to protect all of the children in his house.
He decided to take the septs to their grandpa's house. They hadn't seen him in over a year, and he knew it would be a lot of fun for them. He had purchased the tickets the night before, after explaining to Xatia and Gabe the plan. The teens had the house to themselves for a couple of days, while he delivered the children to Detroit, Michigan in the US. He had a backpack, containing lunch and the passports for himself and the seven children. He had the hands of Kaylia and Jake, and each of them had the hand of a sibling, and so on and so forth, so they were making a big 8-link chain as they left Security and headed to the gate.
"Does Grandpa still have that big car?" Kendra meekly asked him
"it's not a car, it's a tractor, stupid" Tyler taunted her.
"hey! None of that" Bruce scolded his son. "Come on, guys. You're supposed to have fun today."
"Maddison!" Kristen squealed. She adored the older girl. She hadn't seen her in a while.
Bruce looked up. Sure enough, there was Anya's daughter, just walking around. Bruce looked around with a frown. Where was Anya? He hadn't even gotten the nerve to ask Anya out yet, but he still loved her, and he looked at her kids like his own. And he knew Anya wouldn't just send Maddison to the airport on her own. Something had to be wrong.
"Ok, who wants lunch?" Bruce asked the kids, getting a resounding 'me!' Leading them to a row of chairs. Taking out their lunches, he handed them to the kids. "Ok, now I want you to stay put. Understand?" he asked and as soon as they all answered in the affirmative, Bruce took off to catch up with Maddison.
"Maddy!" he called to her, running so he could get in front of her. "Hey. You guys leaving, too? Where's your mom?"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*You appear just like a dream to me. Just like Kaleidoscope colors that cover me. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Madison had been lost in her own little world when the sound of her name came across her ears. Hearing her name had brought her back down to earth. Maddy! And she feared of who exactly it was. She did not want to be seen by anyone whom knew her. She did not want anyone to stop her from doing just what had to be done. For her own safety. For her own sanity.
Hey, you guys leaving too? Where's your mom?”
Looking up, Madison looked up at Bruce. She did not have to tell him. Not in a million years. It was not like Bruce was her father. She had a father. A wonderful father. But he was gone. Taken from her life in one instant. And not him or anyone else will ever take his place. She would not let anyone. What was she going to say? That her mother was not here? That she was splitting this town? He would just force her to go back home. But she did not want that. She did not need that. She wanted to go back to the place that she grew up. She wanted to go back, to be close to her father since he had spent his entire life living there. It was her only option, her only chance, to once again be so close to him. Madison needed that.
Biting her lower lip, Madison looked down at her watch, pretending to care about the time. Pretending that she had some place else to be. Some place other than here. Think Madison. Think.
“Uhm—She sent me to pick up the tickets. She bought them online.” She spoke, softly, calmly. “But I can't stay. I-I'm suppose to meet her. At this small restaurant down the street. So, I really should be going on my way. Sorry I can't chat. Bye.” she explained quickly. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* All I need, every breath that I breathe. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Tag: Bruce Slater Outfit:Maddy's Outfit Notes: none Credit: This template was made by hpphoenix2011 @ caution 2.0. Picking up the tickets? They were past security. She would have had to have a ticket to get past security. Something wasn't right here. "Wait. Let me call her. I don't think you should wander the airport alone. It's not safe. Besides, I wanted to talk to you about some-" he turned to call his kids, when his eyes narrowed. One, two, three, four-- where were Kendra, Kaylia, and Kristen? "Oh, no" His eyes scanned the area. Where had they gone? Panicked, he looked down at the teenager. Great. He had a lying teenager, and missing four-year-olds. Why couldn't he have taken Gabe with him? Where was his son when he needed him? He needed a game plan. Finally, he turned back to Maddison.
"I'll help you find your mom. Just--could you help me find my girls? Please, Maddy." And with that, he went back to Ricky, Billy, Jake and Tyler. If she really wanted to, she could leave. He didn't know if she would. Honestly, Bruce hadn't gotten to know her that well. He had no idea what kind of girl she was. He would like to think, though, that since she was her mother's daughter, she wouldn't just leave. "Hey. Where'd your sisters go?"
"To the potty"
"Without telling me?" he straightened up and looked around. He didn't even know where the bathroom was, so obviously the girls didn't know. God, this was bad. There was a serial killer in the city, and he lost his daughters before he even got out of there.

Maddie couldn’t tell him the truth. It wasn’t like she’d ever really gotten to know him that well like she had with Uly. But that was different. He was her brother. They should know one another. She didn’t want him calling or finding her mother. She just wanted to go back, back to where she came from, back to her father. She pushed a strand of chocolate brown hair behind her ear. He needed her help. She looked down at her ticket. Looked at the time on her ticket. She had a couple of hours before her flight was scheduled to leave. She bit down on her bottom lip. Maybe she could find them and then get the hell out of there before anyone noticed her leaving… It was worth a shot.
Without saying a single word, Maddie began to walk in the opposite direction that she was walking in. She looked around, in the gift shop, bathrooms, everywhere she could think of. Until she finally did spot them. “Hey!” she called out, rushing over to them. “You should not do that. You have your father worried sick. You should always tell him before you decide to go anywhere. You understand me?? Let’s get back.”

Bruce was ready to start yelling. But thankfully, he didn't have to. Within just a few minutes, he saw Maddie with them. Glaring down at his daughters he pointed at the seats. ''Harnesses. NOW.'' Without another word, the girls went and joined the boys. Each of them had a harness with a monkey on the back. The tails clipped to the harness on the right, making a chain until the last tail, which wrapped around Bruce's wrist. It was a way to put them on a leash without being accused of treating them like dogs. With that done, he felt much better. Now to deal with the teenager. Looking up at her, he locked eyes. He was ready to call her bluff.
''Hey, thanks. But now we got a problem.'' He took a step forward, his hands on his hips. ''I just talked to your mom. Wanna take a stab at what she told me?'' He wasn't using the stern growly tone his oldest claimed that he used with him. It was a soft tone, but serious tone. His eyes dared her to lie to him. He had a way of relaying quite a bit with his eyes. He could scare the toughest kid with his eyes. They commanded authority. Of course, he wasn't used to having stare downs with teenage girls. He was used to the kids provoking Gabe. The kid hated it when Bruce called him a wimp but then hid behind him at the first sign of trouble. Maddie was a good kid from what he could tell. This should be easy.
