Before Buffy, Angelus never cared about slayers. He learned about the Chosen One early on and made a point to avoid getting in her way. With as superstitious as people were back then, demon hunters were more common, and he had his fair share of run-ins with them, but when it came to the slayer—Angelus never crossed their path intentionally. He didn't look to fight or hurt them. It was too much of a risk. While strong and arrogant, the vampire did know when to call it quits and when it was a good time to run. He liked plans and he didn't feel like being reckless enough to be dusted or to get someone else dusted because of him. Angelus would have cared very little for Buffy if it hadn't been for what Angel felt. He thought that by loving him and by helping him experience all of that love and hope that she had committed some unforgivable sin. He needed to cut her out completely and destroy everything that Angel loved about her. It was lashing back at his ensouled counterpart and what he was forced to undergo.
Hesitantly, his eyes lifted to look at her when she crawled over to him. Of course that was why! And he knew she was picking up on every thought and wondered if it was even necessary to say a word. She was going to hear his thoughts anyway. Buffy really did mean everything to him. Without her, he would still be nothing more than a vampire lurking in alleyways feeding off of rats and trying to stay as disconnected from the world as possible. Buffy pulled him back into the world and gave him hope and a purpose. She also gave him something he'd never experienced before her—love. As she kissed him, he kissed her back deeply, throwing his passion into the kiss, from the frustration of his thoughts being out of control, to the guilt of everything he had done and mixed it with the love.

When Buffy broke the kiss, she rested her forehead against his. "I'm honored that he went through all that trouble to hurt me because of how much you cared." It sounded odd, but completely true. It would have been more offensive to her if he had been able to just ignore her after he lost his soul. After all the torment that she had witnessed, especially when he went after Willow and Giles, she probably should have been bitter. But now, seeing it in this new light, and knowing why he did it--now, Buffy would never want him to go after anyone else like that.
Buffy kissed him again, looking in his eyes. "I hope you never grow tired of me and go find someone else to torment." It was said endearingly and with a smile. It was odd; the thought that had good intentions had hurt her, and yet the thought that had no good intentions, or intentions at all, made her happy. It didn't make sense, but it was the thought that counted (pun intended).

Honoured? Angel was devastated that he would do it. He felt her forehead against his and closed his eyes. He might have been human now, but it didn't change his past and it didn't change everything he did before he was human. He didn't like to think about it and it had been the first time in forever since he was able to really think little on his past, especially when it came to how much he hurt Buffy and her friends. He was silent, because he didn't know how to respond. He was happy that she wasn't upset by the reasons. He didn't want to upset her in the least. If anything, he wanted to make her so much happier. And when she kissed him again, he kissed back once more.
"I'd never get tired of you, Buffy," he promised her, although he also hoped that he would never hurt her again either. He didn't want to torment her. And he wanted to take advantage of it not being a risk at all. Kissing her once more, his eyes finally met hers in a quiet stare. "Are we okay?" He asked, in hopes that they would be.

Buffy smiled bigger when he asked if they were okay. "Of course." How could they not be after what he just thought? The teenager forgot all about why she was upset to begin with and kissed him passionately, pulling him closer. Her hand ran through his hair and she kissed him again. "I do love you," she said, since she hadn't returned the sentiment before.
Perhaps she loved him too much. She had gone from heated to upset to happy and back to heated in a matter of minutes. She couldn't help it, though. Angel had a way of doing it to her. She didn't know what it was. Hell, he might not have even known what it was. But it was there all the same, rendering the slayer helpless and unable to resist him.

Angel's moods weren't as easy to bounce back and forth between. He tended to linger in one longer than another and everything had to glide back into place again. To know that they were okay lightened him quite a bit and he kissed her happily, a muffled noise of pleasure erupting past his lips as their bodies were pulled close again. He smiled against her lips, brushing them against hers again when she said she loved him. He loved her too and just as strongly. Adoring the way her hand brushed through his hair, he pressed his mouth a little harder against hers, letting his tongue slip in, exploring the moist warmth inside. "I love you," he said when he parted from the kiss. His hand lifted, brushing against her "I love you." He repeated, as if he couldn't say it enough times.
There was something alight inside of him when he was with Buffy. It was a spark that he had felt from the first time he laid eyes on her and decided that he had to help her and that he couldn't let her fight alone. Angel wasn't a romantic before, he never thought about love at first sight or an epic romance that was meant for him and one other person. That had been something out of stories and not for a vampire. When he was soulless he would have never wanted it, and after, it was a ridiculous thought. But, he found it with Buffy.

Buffy would never have expected this when they first met. She hadn't even liked him. He had popped up, told her that there was grave danger and that she needed to be prepared, and disappeared. She had assumed he was a friend of Giles. Even after not liking him wore off, he wasn't around long enough to really like him. But that was before he started sticking around more.
Once he was around more, though, it was very easy to fall in love with him. Buffy had practically fallen head over heels. Of course, they had a minor setback when she learned that he was a vampire, and again when he decided there could be nothing between them, and then once more when he lost his soul. But they had gotten past all of it. And now, she felt like nothing could separate the two.

Angel was trying to bring them back to the mood he had been shoved out of before when she pushed him off. He didn't want it to happen again, but he couldn't control his thoughts either if something were to slip into his mind. Hopefully, nothing disastrous occurred, however. He didn't feel like being launched off of her again because of something he thought. He kissed her again, repeating that he loved her, only to trail his kisses down to her neck then her shoulder, then to her chest. "I love you," he articulated each kiss with that one three word phrase. Over and over again, while the kisses were being given, he started to pressure her back down again. He didn't only want to tell her how much he loved her, but he wanted to show her in every way that was humanly possible.
He wanted this time to be even better than the first, and he didn't mean for him, but for her too. He wanted it to be beyond perfect, to make her feel things that she hadn't before. He wanted to give everything he had into it, to press all the heat and passion into the act that he possibly could. "Buffy," he started her name instead, again just to say it while he started to trail kisses down over her smooth skin. It was taking a very short amount of time for him to recall the heat that had been there before, and maybe, this time, it was even more.

Buffy blushed when he kept saying that he loved her. She couldn't help the smile that came with it. She loved hearing him tell her that he loved her. When he pressured her down, she laid down and her legs spread wide open for him. When he said her name, she smiled bigger. "I'm ready." She whispered it before leaning in and kissing his neck.
Already, her body was anticipating his entry into her. Her breathing quickened as she grew wet again, Her nipples were stimulated. She really was ready, physically and emotionally. She remembered how wonderful it was the last time. She was eager to experience it again.

He felt a shudder pass through him when she said that she was ready. His eyes closed momentarily, relishing in the touch of her lips against his neck. He wanted her badly, and while he thought that the moment could have faded when she was angry at him, it took such a short amount of time to be brought back to it again. He wanted her, ached for her, to the point that his need was almost painful. One of his hands ran through her soft blonde hair, before trailing down her cheek lovingly. Slowly he manoeuvred his hips over hers and lined himself up between her legs. Tenderly, he guided himself inside of her, immediately groaning as he felt that warmth surround him, tightened around his length. It did feel different, but not bad. He wanted to be as close as he could be to her, to have more than just sex. To really connect the same way they had the first time.
He pushed himself inside of her, taking his time, not wanting to rush it, or to hurt her somehow. The former vampire thrust in deep, and let himself steady there for a moment, as if to let her adapt before he pulled out only to repeat the motion. His mouth sought out hers, kissing her passionately while his hands started to wander over her. It was surreal to him, and something he thought they would never have again. And yet, here they were, able to share in it.

If this was to be only temporary, then Buffy had every intention of reliving this experience as much as possible before he turned back into a vampire. It almost seemed like an odd version of Cinderella. Her poor Vampire, enslaved by a demon, was visited by a fairy godmother and turned into a gorgeous human. Hey, it could happen! And if they only had until midnight, then they would be plenty busy until then. She wanted to make the most of it.
As he went inside of her, she moaned with pleasure. As their lips touched again, she smiled into the kiss. She loved this. Every touch, every feeling...there was not one part of it she didn't like. Her hands went up to his bottom and squeezed his cheeks lovingly.

Angel didn't want to lose this. It felt like some twisted cruel fate that kept him from her. The one person that made him happy, and the one person that he wanted to be with was the one he was forbidden from. He loathed it, but accepted it because he had to. Only now, it wasn't forbidden at all. He could have her and all of her. He didn't want the moment to end and he wanted to forget all about the chance that it might not last. He didn't know anything about why he was human, except for that he found the demon that caused it. And now, he wasn't looking to lose anything. He kissed her deeply, his tongue searching the inside of her mouth as he stifled moans against her. His hips continued to push against hers, starting to pick up a solid rhythm, never losing the passion, even for a moment.
He felt like he was in a haze of heat, his body warmed with the contact of hers and his heart beating in his chest. He wasn't use to the loud sound in his chest, or the way his lungs ached when he kissed for too long and was forced to pull his lips away for a breath. "I love you," he whispered, trailing his lips over her jawline and down over her neck.
