Oceana had a scare but she did manage to get to the airport. She bought a one way ticket to Los Angeles, intending to never go home. She never realized how big the city of Angels was. Looking around, Oceana looked down at the address that Brandon sent his last letter from. Sunset Blvd. She kept trying to catch a cab, but always lost it to someone else. So, instead, she hitched a ride with a hotel shuttle and had them call her a cab.
The cab took and a half hours to get to the address, and Oci looked up at the house "wow" she whispered. She was in the ritzy part of town. Gripping her backpack, she jumped the fence and ran up to the house.
By now it was almost 2 pm, and Oci was starved. But she didn't think of that. Instead, she rang the doorbell "special delivery!" she called out, ringing it thee more times

Dylan was living off of his father's money and not telling Brandon. He was almost afraid to. It was funny, he and his son had a confusing relationship. Brandon was the first to lecture and scold him when he messed up, rather than it being the other way around. And it was kind of interefering with his parenting skills, especially when he tried to get after Brandon for something he did wrong. But it worked, in its own funny way.
Having expected a delivery that day, Dylan was the first to open the door. He blinked back surprise to see his son's dark headed, fair skinned girlfriend at their door. He looked down at her bright, warm smile and said nothing to the girl. Instead, he backed up and let her step inside and once she had, he looked up at the staircase. "Brandon!" he called his son

Oceana looked up at Mr. Michalchuck. "Good afternoon," she said cheerfully before biting her lip. He wasn't saying anything. That was never a good sign. When he stepped back, she quickly ran inside and moved around him, backing up against the wall and facing him.
He called Brandon and Oci looked around. "This is a really nice hou-" she started to compliment when she looked up at Dylan and swallowed. He wasn't happy to see her there. Of course, she imagined her mother would be giving Brandon the same look if he randomly showed at their door. Still, it made Oceana nervous. She was already scared of the man.
Where was he? Oceana looked up the stairs, hoping her golden-haired boyfriend would come waltzing down, see her and smile. She wanted him to run down the rest of the stairs and swoop her up in his arms. And she wanted him to kiss her so passionately that even the people she hated would feel it. But so far she hadn't even seen a glimpse of a blonde curl from his head.
Her mind was racing. She looked around and back at the unamused adult. "Gorgeous weather! So much warmer than Toronto. Have you been to the beach yet? I hear Los Angeles beaches are the best." Now she was sucking up to him. That wasn't something Oceana did, but she was nervous and Dylan obviously did not like her.
That wasn't something she was used to. Everybody liked her! Oceana had been around parents, teachers, employers...they liked her. Every one of them. She had never had to deal with someone not liking her. And now here she was, alone in a room with a man who had a strong dislike for the sixteen year old.

Brandon heard Dylan, but took a little longer to actually answer him. He didn't make a habit of jumping up at any given moment. In fact, he was usually a little slow about it. And so he sat there on his bed, finishing up the last couple pages of his chapter before putting the book down on the nightstand. He kind of moseyed across his room and slowly out the door before reaching the stairs. He wasn't going to rush. "What?" He finally called when he was halfway down the stairs, sounding half annoyed. But, when he saw Oceana there, everything changed. He rushed over to her, grabbed her hands and pulled her right to him. "Where did you--How?" He asked, and pulled her in for a kiss excitedly. He barely noticed Dylan, but when he pulled away he looked back at his father. Didn't he know when a moment didn't require parental supervision.
"Hi dad, you can go now." He waved him off, although didn't know for sure if he was going to listen to him. And then, looking back at Oceana, he couldn't wipe the grin off his face. "I can't believe it's you. This is, well, I didn't expect it." He was still getting over the shock of seeing her there. She didn't even tell him that she was thinking of going. Not that he as upset by it. Oh no, that'd be ridiculous.

Dylan rolled his eyes. He didn't mind leaving; he didn't feel like being Mr. Disciplinarian anyways. "Yeah, yeah. I've got to get to work anyways." He lied. He was going to a bar. But Brandon didn't know that. Looking to the girl, he said, "But when I get back, you are going home."
Oceana smiled and kissed him back, waiting until Dylan was gone to answer her boyfriend's question. As soon as the door shut, she sighed with relief and hugged him. "I couldn't stay away from you. With your luck, you'd find some skinny blond who's prettier and smarter than me. I couldn't bear to lose you. And I was going out of my mind without you in Toronto. So I-I hitched a ride to the airport and I came." She hugged him again, kissing him passionately. "God, I've missed you." she whispered.
She laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes, taking in his scent. She didn't want to go back. She refused to. She was right where she wanted to be. With the boy she loved.
