Jessa wasn't like most kids. She sometimes even felt like an outcast. Why? Ever since birth, Jessa was insensitive to pain. It was a rare condition. And she hated it. Sure, it was great never having to feel the pain. Of course, she had to be more careful than much. It just made her feel like a complete outcast most of the time.
She was normally such a sweet child. She tried to follow her parents rules, never got into fights...but ever since her parents split up a month ago, she'd started getting into several fights. Why she got into those fights? Jessa didn't even know. But because of her condition, she sometime took things to far. She'd already been taken to the ER 3 times in the past month.
But today, Jessa was just trying to stay out of trouble. She knew that she needed to stay out of trouble. With a sigh, she decided to chill outside. So, grabbing a soda, Jessa walked out the back door and sat down on the back porch.

Whoops.
Aidan's word of the day. Actually, it was his word every day, so to say it was just today would not only be misleading but a downright lie. He had been taking Voltaire for a walk when the dog slipped out of the leash and took off straight for some large man's pretty little landscaping. Now, Aidan didn't know that there was a large man that lived there until the 300 pound man came storming out of his house, yelling and screaming because Voltaire decided he needed to run and dig. He ran straight for the area and started to dig like crazy and being a huge dog as he was, it was even worse. He never heard such a foul mouth out of anyone on the block until that guy started screaming and went as far as to grab a nearby shovel as if to hit the dog himself. Eyes widening, Aidan whistled and yelled at the dog again, who seemed to realize that danger and turned and ran down the street too. The man was still screaming and yelling as the boy and his dog booked it down the street. Voltaire followed Aidan, chasing him all the way back to the house and to the back gate. "Come on, come on!" He yelled at the animal, opened the gate and let the dog race in. Aidan too tried to run in, but too fast and wound up with the long sleeve of his shirt caught on the gate. "Crap!" He yelped and pulled and tugged desperately before it came loose and the momentum forced him to fall into the grass just inside the gate.
Before he could even register what was happening, large paws ended up on his chest and the dog's large muzzle was nuzzling him in the face. "Gah no! Voltaire, you big brute! Stop it! You got us into it, you jerk." He reached up, playing with his face before playfully forcing the animal to his side with a laugh and got up. The dog didn't even try to get out as he latched the gate, brushing off his clothes of the grass and taking a breath to catch it. "You know, I shouldn't even feed you. I should just leave you out in the cold and laugh at you. Bad mutt. Bad." He was teasing his dog, despite the animal's inability to understand a word he was saying. And in blissful oblivion the dog let out a loud bark and Aidan cracked up. "Oh, shut up, wonderdog." He grinned, not even noticing that Jessa was outside until he looked up to the porch and the dog took off to find a place to lay down.
"Hey, it's Jessa Juice!" He exclaimed and rushed over to his sister, not noticing the water hose he'd left out. His shoe got caught in it and instead of making it to her like a normal human, he tripped and fell towards the porch. As a boy that had fallen so many times in his lifetime, he knew how to right it and grabbed the step, turning at the last moment to land akwardly on the step next to her. Sitting up some, he grinned at her. "Hi." He said, not a bit of embarrassment on his face. In fact, he felt ready to crack up right there.

Jessa took a drink of her soda as she watched her brother open the gate. She tried to keep herself from laughing. Instead, she just watched in silence for a few minutes. She shook her head. Yeah, she knew that he was always this much of a dork. But that was also what she loved about Aidan. He always seemed so happy no matter what he did. She wished that she could be more like that. But it sometimes felt impossible to her. Jess just never admitted that to anyone.
However, today, Jessa was in a rather good mood. She didn't really know why. It's not like much was happening today. She was just chilling. Although, in her opinion, it was an even better day now that her brother was back from his walk with Voltaire. As Aidan noticed her, she grinned and watched as he, well, tried to make it over to her. She couldn't stop herself from cracking up laughing this time. "Well, hi there. Fancy meeting you here." She looked down at Aidan on the ground. "Aidan...you're such a dork sometimes." She said, giggling.

Choking back a laugh Aidan flashed her an innocent smile. Given that he was called a dork most of the time, he was under the impression that it was more than sometimes. Although, he would never fall in line and say it was all the time. Aidan had his serious moments and sometimes, he even had serious problems. In general, he didn't want to consider those things. He was more of a live in the moment kind of kid. It was easier that way and he enjoyed himself a lot more. He couldn't dwell on things anyway. His attention span was minute as it was and he wasn't hard to cheer up. That was just the way it was with Aidan. "Yeah? But I'm a loved dork, so that's what matters." He teased, nudging her in the shoulder with his own, hinting that she was one of the people that loved him despite his dorkiness.
"So, what's up? Anything new? Have any amazingly amazing plans you're going to let me in on? Because, Voltaire's getting boring in his old puppy age." He joked, and actually he was kind of bored. He wanted to do something fun and the walk was just a little too exciting in the wrong way. Plus, it was fun to hang out with Jessa. He couldn't spend all of his time with the dog, even if he enjoyed it. Besides, Voltaire looked content in the middle of the yard, suddenly laying down to nap. Yeah, that was a dog's life for you. Always napping away whenever they wanted. Aidan would love a life like that. Funnily enough, he kind of had one.

Jessa smirked. Well, that was true. Her brother may be a dork...shoot, he may be the biggest dork out of all the Del Rossi kids...but that didn't mean she loved him any less for it. In fact, being a dork was what made life more fun. She stood up and took a drink of her soda, looking over at the dog. She smiled, innocently.
"You know, I didn't have any plans for the day. But I'm so bored just sitting around the house." She looked to her brother with a grin. "Maybe we should go out." Jessa shrugged. "I don't know. Find something exciting to do. What do you think?"
