big mistake (matt)

It was right after what Megan had done to JJ. She took off her mask, and stuck it into her bag. But she still wore her black clothing, her hair was a mess. She had to see her brother, to see how he was doing. She pulled some pictures from her pocket, and smirked. She'd just developed them herself and she wanted to show them to Matt. She hoped that he'd be proud of her for making JJ pay. She valued his opinion, and even looked up to Matt. but she never said that outloud. She stuck the pictures into her bag, before walking into the hospital. She went to the elevator and walked into Matt's room, taking a seat near her brother's bed.

It had been the most painful set of stitches Matt had ever gotten. He had been brave when he was shot, but those stitches made him cry. He was lucky that he had been stabbed in the surgical wound he had from the shooting. But for some reason, the stitches did not want to stay. Just an hour before Megan had come in, the stitches had to be redone for the fourth time. His stomach was far to deliquit to eat anything. So he was on an IV diet and was only allowed to take in the fluids from his IV. He was getting some blood drawn when Megan walked in. As the nurse and technician left, he looked at his sister. "You know, being in the hospital kinda sucks, the beds barely big enough, and they keep waking me up to draw blood, but at least I get to play video games." He grinned as he held up the control to the Game Cube. He noticed what she was wearing, and the ski mask in her hand. "I hope you saved me some of the money you got from the bank." he teased her. "I hope you didn't leave any witnesses."

Megan looked up and grinned. "Okay, before I say anything more, keep in mind that I did this for you. I just couldn't let him get away with hurting you, now could I?"

Matt looked at her. "You did what for me?" he asked, suspiciously. "Who are you talking about?" He was confused, and while his subconscience knew exactly what she was talking about, his conscience didn't.

Megan picked up her bag and pulled out her camera. She handed it to him. "Take a look for yourself."

Matt started looking through the pictures. His jaw dropped. "I-you-you actually did it? I thought I told you not to? Do you realize how long you could go to jail if he catches you? Or worse, he could end up beating you up. How could you do something like that?" In the back of his mind, Matt was applauding her. Afterall, he was the one that put the idea into her head.

"I-I didn't think about that." Megan sat back down. "But-I was wearing this ski mask. There's no way that I would get caught, right?"

Matt shrugged. "Unless he knows you." he told her, before shrugging again. "But JJ's not smart enough to figure it out. It makes me wish I was there." he said, as he continued looking at the pictures. He realized what he said, and quickly added, "To stop you, of course."

"But-I did it for you, Matt." Megan replied, quietly. "I wanted you to be proud of me."

"Megan, what would have happened if you'd gotten caught? Mrs. DiMarco is like the ultimate mother. She'd make you like scrub the entire house with a toothbrush before calling the cops. Am I suppose to be proud of my sister if you'd ended up in jail?"

Megan just shrugged. "I'unno. But I'm not sorry that I did it. That jackass deserved everything he got."

Matt nodded. "And I deserved what I got. Everything we do has consequences, Megan."

"Maybe I just don't care about the consequences, Matt. If I get arrested..." she shrugged. "Then that's what'll happen, I guess."

"If you get arrested, I'd be out a sister. And not just any sister, the best one I could ever have. You're to important to me to just give you up to jail. So, let's save the prison time for Hannah, okay?"

Megan smiled. "I'm sorry. It was stupid. But he had to be taught a lesson."
