Megan, for the past week, had missed school. Why? Because of her dad. But no one knew that she was being abused. She sat on the school bus, as tears reached her eyes, but she quickly wiped away the tears. She didn't want anyone to see her crying. And because of the fact that she was beiong abused, Megan acted tougher than she truly felt. Inside she was just a scared, little girl.
Megan walked into the school. She wore long sleeves and jeans to hide the bruises. But nothing could hide the bruise that she held on her check. But no adult even bothered to question it. She walked into the classroom and took a seat in the very back by the window.

Aidan was always a bit of a goofball. Even in class, he couldn't help it. It didn't take much to make him laugh, or to occupy him. In addition to that, he had difficulty even focussing up at the teacher. It was a problem he always had. His attention span was just too short. And even before the teacher started class he was busy being too hyper. All morning he had been bouncing off the walls-- But it was so natural for him. When he was quiet or down was when it might be worrisome.
He'd taken a rubber band and was attempting to launch it at the window towards the back of the class when he saw Megan there. That desk had been empty for an entire week. It was almost weird to see someone in it again. After he'd let go and sent the rubber band flying, it hit the window with a snap and he quickly got up and snuck to the back of the room to get it. But in order not to get in trouble, he slipped into an absent kid's desk right next to Megan's.
"Did you go on vacation?" He asked out of no where. Since he was there, he might as well talk to her.

Megan jumpd slightly, when Aidan spoke to her. She was always a bit jumpy. Especially lately. "Um--you could say that, I guess." If you define vacation as being in the hospital, then yeah. She smiled sweetly. Her smile was fake, of course. But she had gotten pretty good at lying.

"Oh, cool." Aidan grinned. He loved vacation! "Where'd you go?" He asked, curious. If she really did go on vacation, he thought it'd be cool to know about it. Personally, he loved going places. Especially when it got him out of school and it was something fun like an amusement park or something.

"Yeah. Cool." However, he didn't sound to excited about that. "Um--we went to the states. To--one of those really awsome amusment parks." Totally lying, but she thought it kind of necessary.

"Oh really? Which one?" Aidan asked, since he had been to an amusement park before in the states. Of course, the country was way too big to know exactly which one she had been to, but he thought it'd be cool if they had gone to the same one. He was just curious after all.

"Um--that one in California. What was it called?" Megan pretended like she had only just forgot the name. However, she didn't know the name because she really didn't go there. "I can't remember the name. But it was awsome."

"I don't know, I think there's more than one." Aidan mused, certain that there was more than one. He'd been to California before, but he didn't know if they had been to the same park or not. "But, yeah, did you go on a lot of rides?" He enquired, curious about it. He had a tendency to get excited for other people, even when it didn't involve him.

Megan just nodded. Yeah. If only this made-up story could be true. But it wasn't. No....Instead, she spent the past week in the hospital. Thanks to her dad. "I hope I can go there someday." She paused and looked over at the younger boy. "Again, I mean. That would be great." There was a slight hint of sadness in the young girls voice.
