Andre sighed at his son; he didn't blame him for the attitude. While he knew he wasn't the type to have a constant attitude, he understood why he'd have one with him, especially when he had just ran into his half-sister. He wasn't naive enough to think that everything was perfect or that Isaac liked the arrangement they had more than he would have liked to be in his life more. But, Andre had his reasons and he tried to make them clear to Isaac. He never hid anything from him. He kept open and honest (which was less than what he could say with his husband and daughters), but knew he would want more. If he was in his place, he'd feel the same. And it did bother him, the circumstances that he put everyone in didn't sit well with him. But, over time, it became impossible to do anything about it. Maybe not impossible, but it definitely wasn't easy. "Forse no. Ma posso chiamare qualcuno che possa.. E non anche il punto, dovreste desiderare di essere a scuola. Non combattono in the mall." He replied, calm and knowing that he probably wasn't making any sense to Ashleigh.
"Sorry, kiddo, we don't get to choose that," he said gently, when she called him a jerk. "And he's not, I promise." They couldn't choose who their families were. There were jerks in every family and while he didn't think about his son as one, he wasn't going to scold either of them from being upset. "But, he is your brother. He was born before I met your dad." He explained, knowing it had to be random to her. He never even mentioned having another kid, nor did he think he was ever suspicious when it came to visits with Isaac or how much contact he kept with him. If he was able to sneak it all past Andrew, there was no way the kids could have known about it. Well, he thought that way anyway.
