Definitely not easy once so ever. To learn that your own mother, the parent who raised you since you were young, had Alzheimers. What was Gracie suppose to do? Has much as she loved her big brother, she did not want to go live with him. This was her home. She was everything to her. She knew her so well. But Nathan? Did Gracie really know him? She hardly ever spent any time with him. But she was a teenager. And he was in his thirties. Why would she want to hang out with him? And now she was being forced into living with him. Being taken away from her mother and her home. It just did not seem fair. But did Gracie argue? Throw a fit? Anything? Of course not. Because Gracie Forrester was a lady. Throwing a tantrum, it just seemed so...beneath her. It seemed so childish. And that was not something that Gracie wanted to be. Childish. So what was Gracie suppose to do? Anything a good girl would do. Listen, pack without a fuss, and leave. Without a word. Without a second glance. She now had to kiss her life goodbye. She was going to be starting over. Or at least, that was how it felt to Gracie. Gracie stood in her bedroom, her bed stripped down, everything she owns in her boxes, her desk completely cleaned out. It was hard to imagine that this would no longer be her home. That she would never again sleep in this room. To be honest, it made her quite sad. To think that way. But she was not the type of young girl to complain. She made it a habit to never complain, to never say what was exactly on the girls mind. Swallowing, hard, Gracie turned around and walked downstairs and outside. Nathan would be here any minute to pick her up. Soon, she would say goodbye to this house...Forever. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Here TAGGED: Nathan Forrester WORDS: 327 LYRICS: B.O.B. & Hayley Williams NOTES: Plot -- Every Rose Has Its Thorn Leaving to go live with her brother Nathan. "Fine. We'll take care of it. But you need to stop getting yourself in such messes, Nathan. It's sloppy. And don't think you'll be getting out of child support."
"I'll be there for the baby. I promise."
And he had kept his word. When the adoption was final, Nathan had bought everything for his new "little sister". Nobody knew the truth. Nobody, that is, except for his parents and best friend. The only people in the world he trusted with the truth. Because the truth was, she wasn't just a random baby that his parents adopted during a mid-life crisis. She was his daughter. His wonderful, blond-haired, blue-eyed baby. Nathan had fallen in love with her from the first time he held her when his parents had a party to introduce her. Of course, he couldn't let on that she was really his. Not when he had a tiny baby of his own, a two year old, and a four year old.
He tried to be her friend. As she grew up, Nathan wanted nothing more than to be her friend, so she would look up to him. He never expected this, though. He never expected for his mother to lose her mind. Not so soon after his dad's death. God, poor kid. She had to go somewhere. Vivian Forrester was being placed in a home. Nathan jumped and volunteered. He wouldn't let anyone else take her. Not Gracie.
When he showed up to get her, his stomach was in knots. He went upstairs, knowing she would probably be in her room, and started to knock. Instead, he went up to her and pulled her into a bear hug. "Hey, pretty lady," he spoke endearingly. "Let it out. Come on." He knew she couldn't be perfectly fine. Everything was changing. The people who raised her were virtually gone. There was no way she was fine. And, she needed to have a good cry.

Gracie did not want to let it out. She did not want to cry. Gracie was never one to cry. She had been brought up proper. She kept her perfect poster, held her head up high. Gracie never cried. Especially not around other people. If she ever cried, it would be in the privacy of her own room. Away from everyone. Away from the world. Besides, this was just something that Gracie just could not seem to cry about. Her life falling apart. She tried to cry when she was safe and alone. But no tears ever came. She just could not cry. Even though Gracie had every right too. Gracie pulled herself away from her brother after a moment and shook her head. “No. I don't have anything to let out. I am just fine. I really am. I just want to leave. I am ready to go.” she spoke, calmly. She really just wanted to leave. This house just had to many memories. And she just needed to get away. Maybe she could find a way to find her real parents. She loved her brother, but he was not her father. (Or so she believed. Boy, was she in for a surprise) She looked around. “Do we gotta make several trips to get all this stuff I have?” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Here TAGGED: Nathan Forrester WORDS: 225 LYRICS: B.O.B. & Hayley Williams NOTES: Plot -- Every Rose Has Its Thorn Leaving to go live with her brother Nathan. If it was up to Nathan, Gracie would have found out from day one, even when she was too tiny to understand a word they were saying, who her real father was. He wanted her to know, and to know that he loved her and if circumstances were different, he would be the one raising her. But one of the conditions to his parents taking her in and adopting her were that he never tell her. He didn't get why. And he didn't like it. But his father was not one to be argued with, so he simply said yes, sir. He did tell her once, when she was sick and asleep. Nathan had been caring for her while his parents were away. And she was asleep, her head in his lap, a small girl of age seven. He stroked her hair, and while she slept, he told her that he was her daddy and that he loved her. Of course, she never knew. But at least he got to say it.
And now? How could he tell her? It had been so long. If he did tell her, she might hate him. He couldn't take that. All he ever wanted was for her to live a happy life, with him in it. If he told her now, it would be turning her world even more upside down than it already was. No, he couldn't do that. But that didn't make him any less her father, either. And it didn't mean that he didn't love her. He did, he really did. And seeing her like this--it broke his heart. "You don't have to be strong all the time, you know," he informed her. And it was true. Because, he was right there to pick up the pieces for her.
He heard her ask the question and looked at her. With a sigh, he shook his head. "Movers will handle that. Grab what you wanna keep with you. I have a surprise for you." They weren't going home. Not yet. Not while she was obviously upset. Not that he blamed her. He shared those feelings with her. After all, he too had lost a father not long before this ,and now his mom was sick. And he loved both of his parents. Nathan was dealing with heartbreak as well. But he wasn't showing it, because he wanted to be there for Gracie.

She was a little bit, but the girl was never the type of person to show that part of her. She never would. This was Gracie Forrester. She was not brought up to throw tantrums. That just was not who she was. Gracie knew that she did not have to be strong all of the time. But she could not be forced into saying how she felt, doing what needed to be done, or even throwing some pathetic tantrum. That was not even close to the type of person she was. And no matter what anybody said to her, she would not do any of those things. She would remain as the girl that her mother, that Vivian Forrester, had raised. But she did not respond to what Nathan said about being strong. She did not want to be weak. She needed to be strong. And she was not about to change her mind either. Gracie nodded when he said that movers would be there to get her things. “Okay, then.” she spoke, in a calm and confident tone. She put on a smile. “Then let me get a few things together, Nathan.” she spoke, softly. She walked over to her dresser and grabbed her laptop case. She picked up her school backpack and put it on her back. And finally, Gracie grabbed both her purse and her suitcase that had some clothes in there so she had them. This was it. Never again would she be stepping into this house. Now it would be time to say goodbye. She then turned back to Nathan. “Yeah. So, let's get out of her then.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Here TAGGED: Nathan Forrester WORDS: 281 LYRICS: B.O.B. & Hayley Williams NOTES: Plot -- Every Rose Has Its Thorn Leaving to go live with her brother Nathan.
