Megan loved her brother. And she knew that him keeping a close eye on her probably was for the best. She still had problems, though, and she stll felt so much afraid. She really didn't have any reason to be scared.
After the bell to end 3rd hour rang, Megan stopped by her locker. Reaching into the back of her locker, Megan pulled out a switchblade and stuck it into her back pocket. It didn't even occur to her that Matt might wonder where she was at. Megan stuffed her books into her locker, and walked up to the rooftop. Leaning
against the wall, Megan sat down on the ground. She pulled out her switchblade, pulled up her sleeve, and started cutting.
---------------------
"Is there any changes?" Hazel asked Rachel. Rachel just shook her head. There was no change at all in Scott. Rachel was starting to get worried. She didn't want her boyfriend to die. Lifting her tray, Rachel went to a table and sat beside Willow.
"She was asking about Scott again?" Willow asked her.
Rachel shrugged. "I don't want to talk about it."
"Well, hey, at least he's not dead."
Rachel looked up at her. "I guess. It's more than I can say for Kevin."
"Well, Kevin got what he deserved." Willow told her. "He was a psycho and you know he hated Scott. He probably ran into him on purpose." As Willow was saying this, a certain red-headed girl was over hearing it.
Stopping in her tracks, she looked over at them. She wanted to speak, she wanted to defend her twin, but no words came out. Melissa threw her food into the trash. She hadn't even taken a bite, but she wasn't hungry anyways. She decided that she'd better get out of the cafeteria before she ended up lunging at
Willow. She ended up running up to the rooftop where she thought she could be alone. Shutting the door behind her, she closed her eyes and started to cry. But the sound of somebody moving made her open her eyes again. She saw Megan, and frowned. Without a word, she walked over and got on her knees beside her. She watched her cut, before looking up at her in wonderment.
------------------------
Megan was in mid-cut, when she looked up at Melissa. She shook her head, only to make another thin cut across her wrist. She stared down at the blood on her arm. But seeing the blood only soothed her. "What?" she snapped, looking back up at Melissa. She didn't mean to sound mean. She just didn't like to be interrupted when cutting.
-------------------------
Melissa bit her lip and looked at Megan, timidly. She slowly reached over and took the blade from Megan. She looked at Megan again. She put the blade against her skin. She looked up to Megan and wanted to do anything she did.
------------------------
Megan didn't say anything when Melissa took her blade. She watched as Melissa put it to her skin. Placing a hand on the young girls knee, Megan shook her head. She liked cutting herself, but Megan never wanted to see anyone else hurting themselves. "No." she whispered. "Don't cut."
---------------------
Melissa looked at her. "If you do it, I do it." she whispered.
--------------------------
Megan looked down. "I'll stop if you put the knife down." she whispered, but didn't think she actually would.
---------------------
Melissa looked up at her with round, tear filled eyes. "Promise?"
--------------------
Megan bit her lip. "Why do you care so much?" she asked, avoiding the promise.
----------------------
Melissa looked down. "I just do."
-----------------------
Megan sighed. "It's hard to know who cares and who's just using people. I can't always feel how much people care. I'm sorry."
