There was something about Megan that was different, and to the boy who was in love with her, it was very clear that something was Willow Santos. Hanging out with Willow definetely brought out changes into Megan's personality. Shayne knew without a doubt that it wasn't really Megan and after witnessing the horrid scene in the cafeteria that day, all Shayne wanted was to spend some time with theMegan Del Rossi that he knew and loved. Even if he had to face the scariest man alive...her father.
Shayne was nervous. He had seen enough incidents where Ben Del Rossi was involved to be scared of him. But today, Shayne couldn't let that bother him.
Shayne made his way over to Megan's house and knocked on the door. The person that opened the door was nothing like the girl that Shayne had hoped would answer the door. Shayne looked up at Ben. "Well, hi. How are you today, sir?"
Ben folded his arms. "What do you want, Nigger?"
"Well, sir, I was hoping that I could talk to Megan."
"You don't need to talk to her." Ben cut him off. "You need to turn around and go home."
Shayne swallowed. "Sir, I don't think I can do that. I need to talk to her. Megan's my friend."
Ben shook his head. "In this house, we're not friends with Niggers. If we were still with Ellie, I would tell you to go get a job as one of her servants and then you could talk to Megan. But since we don't have any positions available, then I guess you'll just have to talk to her at school."
Shayne sighed. "I would really like to talk to her, Sir."
Ben smirked. "Then you'll see her tomorrow."
---------------
Neither of them knew, but Megan stood at the top of the stairs, listening to the whole conversation. Shayne needed to talk to her? About what? With a sigh, Megan walked downstairs and looked from her father to Shayne and back again. "What's going on?" she asked the two, a little bit of an attitude in her voice.
-----------------
Shayne looked up. "I just want a minute alone with you. That's all."
Ben looked at him. "And I said no."
--------------------
Megan just rolled her eyes. She walked outside. "Look, I'll just be a minute, dad." she looked at Shayne. "You, follow me. Now." She just wasn't at all happy about what had happened earlier that day in the cafeteria.
----------------------
Ben's eyes narrowed. "Megan Julia Del Rossi, don't you dare go outside with that nigger!"
Shayne didn't really know what to do. He was kind of caught in the middle of a father-daughter disput. That much, he could see. "Have a good day, sir." Following Megan outside, he looked at her. "Something seems off." he told her. "Now, it might not be my place to say, but you and Willow don't seem tx. I mean, I saw
what happened in the cafeteria today and that wasn't you, Megan. And to be honest, I hadn't really seen you around at all lately. I mean, there's a girl runningaround that looks a lot like Megan Del Rossi, but I don't know her. And I also know that changes in your personality don't just happen for no reason. Something's going on, Megan. Now, you have 3 choices. Option #1, you can talk to me, tell me what's bothering you. I won't judge and I'll really try to help if you need it. Option #2, you can leave all of your problems and go with me, and have the most incredible weekend of your life. Don't worry, I can get your brother to cover for us. Or option #3, you can just ignore everything I've said, go back inside, and lead a miserable life." He looked in her eyes and touched her cheek. "Because I know you're miserable. And it makes me want to cry, seeing you so miserable. But I can't help you if you don't want me to. It's your choice. But if I were you, I'd pick both one and two. Because honestly, what I've got planned for this weekend is awesome. So, what's it gonna be?"
------------------
Megan just shook her head, not listening to her father. Stopping, she looked up at Shayne. "You're right, Shayne. It's not your place to say. And what happened in the cafeteria-" She shook her head. "-it's none of your business." Megan knew that there were reasons for this change, but she refused to admit it to herself. "Face it, this is who I am. I always will be." she whispered. She looked up at Shayne. "Miserable? Me? No
way." Of course Megan was miserable, but she tried to act like everything was fine. She crossed her arms over her chest. "I guess I'll go with Option 2, but don't expect me to say something's wrong. Everything's perfect."
-------------------
Shayne put his hand to his back pocket. "Not my business, huh? Does that include what went down between me and you? Is that none of my business, too?" Shayne didn't even really know why he was here. Megan was starting to turn away from her friends and say to them whatever Willow wanted her to say. "If this is you, I think I liked you better when you weren't being Willow's lapdog." Shayne's tone was a little irritated, but after all, she hadn't been very nice to him today. "If everything's perfect, then stop being such a snob." he said, in the exact same tone. Shayne sighed. "Look, let's just leave everything here, including your attitude. I've got something I want to show you."
----------------------
Megan sniffed and looked down, before looking back up at Shayne. "You just don't get it, Shayne. You don't understand what-" She shook her head. She knew that because of Willow, she was gonna lose her friends. "I-I'm not a snob." She whispered. She sighed and looked down at the ground. "What do you want to show me?"
---------------------
Shayne grinned. "It's in the car. But first," he pulled out his phone and called up Matt. After a pause, he smiled. "Hey dude. I need you to do me afavor...I'm taking Megan on a little drive. Can you cover for us?....Yeah, your dad doesn't exactly like me and I promise I'll bring her back in one piece...Great. Thanks buddy." he said and hung up. He smiled at her. "Okay. We can go now."
------------------------
Megan bit down on her bottom lip. Without Willow around, she couldn't be as mean as she's acted lately. She just nodded. "Okay." she whispered.
--------------------------
He looked down and back up at her. Shayne smiled. "You know, I got something underneath the seat. Why don't you take a looke inside the car?" he asked her.
-----------------------
Megan nodded, and without a word, she walked over to his car and opened the door. She climbed into the car and looked underneath the seat.
-----------------
Shayne went up behind her and shut the passenger dor, quickly, locking it. He ran around and got in the driver's seat. Locking the rest of the car, he said, "Whoops. Look what I just did. Oh well, might as well go for a drive since we're trapped in the car." He started up the engine, grinning.
--------------------
Megan's head shot up the moment Shayne shut the door. She tried to open the door as Shayne got in, before looking at him. "What are you doing?" she questioned.
------------------
"Me? I'm not doing anything, nothing at all." he said, as he turned the key and started the engine. "Well, would you look at that." he said. "The car just decided to start. It must want us to go somewhere since I accidently locked us in the car and the car just so happened to start, we might as well go for a drive."
---------------------
Megan rolled her eyes and looked over at Shayne. "You know, you're such a dork." she said, looking out the window. "Where exactly do you plan on driving to?"
------------------
"Who says I have a plan?" he asked, innocently. "I don't know where we're going. But Sally does, so I'm not to worried."
---------------------
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You don't even know where we're going?" She looked to Shayne. "I'm guessing that I have no say with not wanting to go? You're gonna make me go anyway, aren't you?"
-----------------------
"I'm not making you do anything. If you can find your way out of a moving, locked vehicle, than by all means, Megan, go ahead. I'll see you at school on Monday."
-----------------
Megan folded her arms, and stared out of the window. "You know that's not possible." she replied, softly, with a sigh. "I guess I'll just have to come with you then."
-----------------
Shayne grinned. "I'm sure it's not impossible. I bet James Bond could do it." After making that comment, Shayne started chukling. "Have to come with me. You make it sound like I'm pulling your teeth." Shayne chuckled again and looked at her. "I could pull over and let you out if you wanted me to."
--------------------
Megan looked up at Shayne. "Pull over?" She shook her head and looked down at the floorboard. "Uhm-no, no. You don't have to. I mean, if you don't want to, that is."
------------------
Shayne grinned at her. "You do't want to go home. Just face it. Let's hear you say it out load. I don't want to go home."
----------------------
"I-I-" Megan swallowed and looked up at Shayne before whispering, "I don't want to go home."
---------------
Shayne grinned. "Don't worry. You won't." he said, as he kept driving.
------------------
Megan looked down at the floorboard. "Why are you doing this?" she asked, quietly. "Why after I treated you so horribly?"
------------------
"Oh don't get me wrong." Shayne said with a smile. "This is your punishment."
------------------
Megan looked back up at Shayne. "You're punishing me? By taking me away? How's that a punishment?"
----------------
"Because...you're my slave." he decided with a grin.
----------------
Megan just shook her head. "Slave, huh? And as your slave, what would you want me to do?"
----------------
"Anything I ask for." he said, with a grin.
-----------------
"Okay, then, ask and you shall recieve." Megan couldn't help but giggle.
----------------
Shayne grinned. "Hang on."
-----------------
Megan nodded. "Alright." She looked over at Shayne. She hated herself for the way she had treated him. "Where are we going?"
------------------
Shayne didn't answer. Instead, he hit the gas and started driving in the grass, heading into the forest.
------------------
Shayne smiled. "Shortcut." he said, with a grin.
-----------------
"Shortcut? Where are we going Shayne?"
-------------------
"That's a good question."
-------------------
Megan looked at him. "You mean-you-you don't know?" She bit her bottom lip.
------------------
"I didn't say that. All I said is that's a good question."
--------------------
Megan bit her lip and stared out the window. "Was I really that bad?" Tears filled her eyes as she looked back to Shayne. "I didn't mean to hurt anybody." she whispered.
--------------------
Shayne shrugged. Didn't she? He found it hard to believe. You don't stand there and say horrible things and expect not to hurt anyone. Instead of answering, he took a shortcut to the border.
Shayne was nervous. He had seen enough incidents where Ben Del Rossi was involved to be scared of him. But today, Shayne couldn't let that bother him.
