Darcy had been back for an entire week. And her eyes watched Miss Hannah Del Rossi very closely. Something was up. And Darcy was pretty sure of what that was. It was last hour, Journalism, and Darcy was substituting. It seemed like the perfect time to approach Hannah, afterall. When that final bell finally rang, Darcy sat down at her desk. "Have a good weekend." She looked up from her stack of papers. "Miss Del Rossi? Could I speak to you for just a moment please?"

Hannah's head jerked up. She wanted to see her? Hannah couldn't think of what she could have possibly have done. All she had been doing the last two weeks was going to school and going home. She had not gotten into any fights. She had not stolen anything. She hadn't even mouthed off to any teachers. Hannah had been a complete angel for the past two weeks. So she was completely stumped as to why Darcy wanted to talk to her. Standing up slowly, she said, "Uhm-sure." Swinging her backpack over her shoulder, and picking up her books, she walked to the front of the classroom where Darcy was. "Look, whatever you think I did, I didn't do it. It was Megan."

Darcy looked up at Hannah. "You're not in any sort of trouble, Hannah. There's something that I wanted to talk to you about. I've been watching you, and I probably shouldn't even be asking you this." Darcy stood up and walked over to hannah. "Sweetie, are you pregnant?"

Hannah put her books on the table and put up her hands. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you kidding me? I'm the school criminal, not the school slut." She protested, shaking her head. "No. No. No. No way. I would-I would never-I...I mean..." she trailed off as she realized how obvious it was that she was lying. So she decided to stop talking altogether and folded her arms.

Darcy set her hand gently on Hannah's shoulder. "Look, it's okay if you are. Did you tell anyone yet?"

For once, Hannah didn't scream or jump or try to get away from Darcy. Being touched on her shoulder like that would normally have triggered a reaction like that. Especially after waht Hannah went through. This time was different. This time she trusted the person touching her shoulder completely. So this time, when Darcy put a hand on her shoulder, it caused the emotion it was suppose to cause. And that emotion was definetely not fear. Hannah shook her head no, as her eyes filled with tears. "You're not gonna tell my dad, are you?" she asked, pretty scared that Darcy would. "Ever since the splitup, you can't talk to dad about anything. He was never a talker and with dad gone, it's 10 times worse. Please, Mrs. Stone. I'll do anything. Just don't tell my dad."

"Telling your parents about this is something that you need to do yourself. I would only tell him if you wanted me to. But if you ever need to talk feel free to come and find me." Darcy replied.

Hannah looked up at her. "Are-are you serious? You're not gonna scold me or tell me how stupid I am for not using protection. What kind or principal are you?" she asked, confused. Of course, that was all she really knew when it came to Darcy. But that was only because she was always in trouble. She wasn't used to this side of Darcy. Not at all.

"You know, I was your age when I got pregnant. I know how scary it can be." Darcy replied, before asking, "Have you been seeing a doctor?"

Hannah scruntched up her face and stood up. "Who are you? My mother?" she snapped at her. "This is none of your business. None of your business. Why'd you even keep me behind after class?! It's not like I'm your daughter! And I wouldn't shose to be! You're such a stuck up, prissy, little goody-two-shoes witch. Just like my grandmother! What I do with my body is my business, noy yours! If I chose to jump off of the school roof and kill it, that is my choice! So back the fuck off!" she grabbed her books again, and put her backpack on her shoulder and turned to leave the room. Hannah didn't actually mean anything she said to her. Darcy put her in a very delicate position and when Hannah put her guard down, she had a tendency to react with anger and say things that she didn't mean. She did it all the time with Marco. So it really meant that she was starting to view Darcy as a parent.

Darcy grabbed Hannah's arm gently. "Marco is my best friend and I care about everyone in his family. I do consider you like part of my family. I just don't want to see you get hurt. I just want to be here for you."

Hannah looked up at her. "Oh yeah? That's what everyone says right before they screw me over. I've been betrayed by everyone, even my own boyfriend, because of your stupid daughter. What makes you so different from everyone that claimed they cared about me and stabbed me in the back."

Darcy sighed. "I know how that feels. Believe me. I've had my share of betrayal."

"No. You don't. You have no idea. You've never been in the system. They give you a fucking garbage bag to carry your clothes in, so all your clothes smell like plastic and everyone knows you're a foster kid! The bounce you from place to place! These so-called parents, they claim that they want to help, but they don't! they don't give a damn! All they care about is their precious jewelry and money that they assume you're going to steal because your mother was a fucking thief and had you in prison. So you make bad choices because that's what they expect! And they ship you off to juvenile hall! Then, when you finally are told you're home, and you are given this big party with presents...Everything crumbles. They don't keep their promises. They leave you behind. No, Mrs. Stone. You can't possibly know what that feels like. Because from what I hear, you've had the same set of parents all your life. Even a sister. So just do me a favor, and stop pretending you've been through it and leave me alone."
Hannah had started out yelling, but by the end of it, she was crying. Her hands went up and she backed up. She couldn't deal with this. She couldn't deal with being hurt by Marco. She just couldn't face her emotions. She had to get out of there.

Darcy nodded. "I know. But I have been through my share of problems. Just different." Yeah, like killing a kid. The same one that raped her. "Hannah, sweetie, I'm always her for you. I would never abandon you."
