Keeping secrets, not being truthful, was something that Marissa really tried to avoid. So, she told Matt that they needed to tell her father. Now this was definetely something that she was dreading the most. Normally, the first person that she would ever tell anything too would be her brother. But not this time. No. Her dad needed to know. Afterall, his baby girl wasn't a child after all. She was almost 16, in fact. And she would marry Matt whether her father approved or not. And something told her that he would not approve. But--what could she do? Wait? Seriously? Marissa just couldn't wait.
So, she had texted Matt earlier that day and told him to meet her at 6 o'clock at the hotel that her father had been staying at. Of course, she stood outside. Marissa didn't want to go upstairs until Matt showed up. But in Marissa's eyes, she wasn't living with her father, so he couldn't forbid her from getting married. But of course, he could. The two lovebirds weren't even of legal age to get married. But it was possible. Wasn't it? Without your parents permission?
Marissa sat upon the bench outside the hotel, and watched out for Matt. It was time. Marissa knew that. She didn't want to keep this from everyone. Marissa was happy, happier than she'd ever been. And she wanted to stand up and shout it to the whole world that she was in love with Matt Del Rossi. Looking down at the ring on her finger, Marissa couldn't help but grin. She had never felt this way before. So....in love.

Matt thought that Marissa was completely crazy. Not alot of people intimidated Matt, but Craig was one of them. He already knew that it was gonna be hard enough to get his father to sign the permission slip to get married. But it wouldn't be impossible. After all, Ben had his moments where he wasn't paying attention and would sign almost anything. Craig Manning, now that was a different story. That man was always alert and always questioning motives and his illness is what really intimidated Matt. It seemed like Craig was capable of doing anything when he wasn't taking his meds. He stepped into the hotel, cautious and scared. He hoped to god that Craig wwas taking his meds today. He didn't want to end up being dropped out the window or something like that.

Marissa bit down on her bottom lip, sitting inside the lobby, waiting for Matt. How would they tell him? And how would her dad even take it? But Marissa wasn't gonna be one of those girls who kept it from everyone. She was really happy and she wanted to let everyone know.
As she noticed Matt walk in, Marissa got up quickly and walked over to him. "Hey." she replied, sweetly. Okay, Matt probably thought that Marissa was crazy for wanting to do this now. But even if neither one of them signed the permission slip, they would be getting married. If they had to, the two would elope. "I'm so glad that you came."

Matt forced a smile and said nervously, "Yeah. Sure. No problem." He looked around at the enormous hotel and looked back at Marissa. "I don't think I can even afford to stand in here." he looked over at the two gaurds by the elevator. There had to be some pretty rich people here to need guards at the elevator. Matt saw it as a ticket out of it. Pointing at the two guys, he said, "They don't look to happy. I don't think they're gonna let anyone on the elevator. Maybe we should catch your dad awt work or something."

Marissa just shook her head. "No. It'll be fine. We really should do this now." Marisa took Matt's hand. "Come on. It'll be just fine. Don't be scared."

Matt scoffed. "Who are you calling scared? I know you can't be calling me scared. I'm not scared of anything. You're the one that scared." He folded his arms. "Calling me scared."

Marissa just rolled her eyes. "Right. I'm the one that's scared." she retorted a bit sarcastically. She grabbed his arm and dragged Matt over to the elevator. She smiled, sweetly. "Hey guys." She nodded, with a wave. She hit the up bottom.

Matt whimpered as she dragged him to the elevator. He looked up at it and back at her. "How do I know this elevator is safe. You know how often elevators drop? And sometimes the doors will open, and people will fall into the empty shaft. I'm pretty sure they die from that. That's how they kill off that doctor from Days of Our Lives." The gaurd standing nearby gave Matt a weird look. Shrugging, he added, "It's a show that Ellie liked to watch. You try saying no to a drunk woman who insist that you watch a soap oprah with her. It's not easy." He pointed to the sign by the elevator and said, "And look, it says in case of fire do not use elevator. How do I know there's not a fire. There could be one all the way at the very top that we wouldn't even know about til we were on the elevator and suddenly the wires got burned and we fell to our deaths."

Marissa just glared at Matt. "Aren't you being a bit over dramatic Matt? I mean, seriously, come on. What are the chances of that happening. Come on, get real." Marissa took Matt's arm. "Well, if you're so scared of the elevator then we'll take the stairs. I mean, sure, it's the 19th floor, but we're gonna do this."

Matt immediately gave her a look. "No! I'm just being cautious. Afterall, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And I don't want to be a total of 5 minutes." When she mentioned the stairs, he shook his head. "But Marissa? It's 19 floors up. What if there's an earthquake while we were on our way up? This whole building would crumble and we'd be right in the middle of it."

Marissa looked over as the elevator arrive. Marissa grabbed his arm, pushing him slightly into the elevator, walking in behind him. She hit the button that said 19. "We're going to talk to my dad." Marissa retorted, as the doors closed shut.

Matt held onto the bar as the elevator started to rise. "Okay. But don't say I didn't warn you." he said to her. His stomach was churning. He didn't want to go tell Craig Manning that he wanted to marry his daughter. It was Craig Manning. He was probably rich enoughto buy her another husband someday. And Matt knew that Craig didn't like him. So all he could forsee was trouble. And it would be even worse if he were to tell his dad, which was exactly why he didn't plan on telling him.

Marris just rolled her eyes. "Look, everything will be okay." She kissed him on the cheek. "I promise." The elevator door opened, and Marissa lead him down to Craig's room and she knocked on her dad's door.

Matt stood there, dreading the moment when Craig opened the door. After a couple of seconds, he said, "Okay. Noone's here. Let's go." And started to walk back to the elevator.

Marissa looked to Matt, and grabbed him by the arm, before he got very far. "Matt! You haven't even waited long enough."
