Marissa had been home for only a couple days now, after leaving the hospital. But this time was worse than the last time she had been anorexic. This time, her dad would watch her eat, to make sure that she was. Marissa hated to be watched like that. At the moment, she only weighed 95 lbs. Her dad made her weigh herself morning and night to make sure that she wasn't losing anymore weight.
Tonight after dinner, however, Marissa said that she was gonna take a quick shower. She turned on the water, before going over to the toilet and making herself throw up.

Ever since his daughter had been in the hospital, Craig had decided that he needed to be strict. He could not bare to lose his little girl, so he had taken down bothe the connecting down between his room and hers and the bathroom door. He had also spoken with Darcy and Marissa's teachers and got permission to sit in on each and every single class everyday for the rest of the school year. Most of the teachers were accomidating enough to move the students who were either sitting beside her or behind her so that Craig could sit there. The one who didn't do that let him sit at the teachers desk in the front of the classroom. Either way, Craig would be keeping a very close eye on his daughter. He intended on spending every waking hour with her until she got better and stayed better. He wasn't going to watch her take a shower. He was just going to watch until he saw the removing of clothing to satisfy him and assure him that she was really taking a shower. When she started throwing up, he cleared his throat to let her know that he was there. He reached over and grabbed the bottle of pepto bismol and held it out for her to take. "I see this isn't working." he told her. "So take some medicine, get your things, and leave your room key on my bed. I'll be downstairs warming up the car. And if you're not downstairs in five minutes, I'm sending Brutus and Nero up to escort you down." he told her and left the room.

Marissa jumped when she heard her father there. She bit down on her bottom lip, looking innocently up at her dad. "What?" Her voice came out in almost a whisper. Her m9ind raced with thoughts of as to where her father would be taking her. She worried that he may send her somewhere to get help from proifessionals. That would have probably been a better idea because at this point, Marissa didn't care if her illness killed her. A part of her wanted to die. She felt lost without Matt. She just didn't have the strength to get better. Not if he hated her. And she knew that he had every right to hate her. She even hated herself. Matt was the only one that she wanted, no one else, just him.
Marissa could feel her eyes water, but blinked back tears. She refused to cry. Standing up, she took some of the medicine and headed to her bedroom. She looked at the picture on her nightstand. A picture of her and Matt. But looking at it just hurt so much. She picked up the frame, putting it in the drawer. Then she grabbed her duffel bag, and stuffed some clothes into her bag. Marissa picked up her bag, before going into her father's room and set her key on her dad's bed. She walked out into the living room, seeing a picture on her end table that made her want to cry. A picture of her and her twin. He was her other half. She needed him now. But he was in a coma and he might never even wake up. She felt lost without him too. Scott had always been her best friend. Two guys...the ones that mattered most...might never even be in her life again. And it was only a matter of time before she broke down completely.
Leaving the hotel room, Marissa took the stairs to the lobby instead of the elevator. She walked outside, to her dad's car, and climbed into the passenger seat. She slammed the car door shut, looking out the window, remaining absolutely quiet.

Craig looked at his daughter. "Are you planning on buying me another car if you break my door?" he asked her. Shaking his head, he did not even wait for a response. Instead, he started up the car, and pulled out.

Marissa didn't even respond. She just crossed her arms over her chest and looked down at the floor board. She just didn't feel like talking, especially to her father.

Craig looked at her. "You know, I don't talk just to hear myself." With her crossing her arms and looking at the floor board, he decided to stop the car. So when the light turned green, he didn't move. "We're not going anywhere until you start talking."

Marissa shook her head. "What's the point? You don't care about what I say anyway. So, why even bother? Why bother helping me, even? Face it, dad, there's no point to any of this."

"If you believe that, the get out. Just open the car door and start walking if you really think that I don't care." Tears smarted in his eyes. "My little girl was in the hospital, and you think I don't care?" He shook his head and started sobbing. "Maybe you should go." He said through his tears. "You can take better care of yourself than I ever could. I mean, look what I drove you to do. And I'm so sorry." He punched the steering wheel, as he continued to sob.

Marissa looked up at her dad. She never meant to make him cry. "I've lost everyone, dad. I've lost my boyfriend, my brother, all the people that mattered most to me. Now you want to be number 3?" She shook her head. "I thought that it would be easy to blame you for this or the kids at school or whatever. But the only person to blame here is me. I've been through this before. Maybe this is just who I am. Maybe there's no hope left. Maybe-maybe I'm just not worth saving."

Craig looked at her. "You are the best thing that's ever happened to me. No matter what you do, you will always be worth saving. You're the reason I wake up everyday." He reached over and pulled her into her arms, before he heard honking behind him. Wiping his eyes, he forced a smile. "Let's get out of here.

Marissa smiled, softly, and just held onto him when he pulled her into his arms. When there was honking behind them, Marissa got back into her own seat. "Okay. Where are we going anyway?"

"First, we're finding a Wal-Mart." he told her. "There's a few things we need to get." As he pulled into the parking lot, he didn't get out right away. Tears were starting to fall down his face again. When he finally did step out of the car, he tried to re-compose himself.

Marissa stayed quiet, and when they got to Wal-Mart, Marissa climbed out of the car, and closed the door. "What do we have to get daddy?"

Craig sighed and looked at her "sleeping bags" he said quietly, going inside the store

Sleeping bags? Why were they getting sleeping bags for? Marissa followed her dad into the store, staring down at the ground as she walked. She couldn't look up and see a lot of people in here. It was obvious that Marissa was sick, with how much she weighed, and she didn't want anyone talking about her. Marissa just stayed close to her daddy.
