It was Megan's lunch period, but honestly, she wasn't really all that hungry. Or really in the mood to hang out around a lot of people. Especially jerks like those at Degrassi. So she had decided to head outside and sat down on the front steps. People could be cruel and there were those few who still teased her at times about her past and the fact that she was nothing but a foster child. So, pulling out a book, she started reading her book for English.

Kevin was pretty damned bored and when he got bored things happened. It was like a law of nature, or something. As he paced down the front steps, he noticed Megan there reading. Since she looked vulnerable enough to him, he reached down and snatched the book right out of her hand. "What's this?" He asked, then boredly flipped through a few pages before he dropped the book on the ground. "Looks boring."

Megan was about to turn the page when her book was snatched. "Hey!" She hissed, standing to her feet. Only a moment before he dropped it to the ground. "What's your problem?" Megan glared at the boy. The two had never exactly gotten along.

"I don't got one. What's yours?" He asked rudely. There wasn't any reason for him to choose her. He never got along with the girl anyway. But, Kevin hardly got along with anyone. He didn't exactly make a lot of friends. Not unless they were just as willing to be harsh and cause trouble. Those type of people usually were the ones he befriended. Not people he bullied.

Megan snarled. "You know nothing about what I'm going through! Why don't you just back off?!" Megan really had no reason to be nice and she already had enough problems as it was.

Kevin wasn't so easy to deter. He didn't plan to leave her alone. When someone told him to, it was as if they were giving him a list of reasons why he shouldn't follow their orders. It was a lot more fun to bug them further. "No? And what's going on in your pathetic, sad little world?" He asked.

"Oh, you so do not want to know. It would make your own father look like a saint." she hissed. Of course, Megan had heard about how Kevin's father was like. She smirked.

Kevin really hated when people brought up his father. Everyone seemed to know about him and it did bother him quite a bit. Sometimes, he wasn't sure if he hated the man or if he missed him. There was a mixture of it-- And when it came down to it, he didn't want him to be dead. Still, when she said that, he raised his eyebrows at her. "Oh yeah? And what's that? I'd love to know." He said,. voice just as taunting back at her. Her had no idea what he was asking to learn, but he wanted her to tell him.

Megan glared at him for a moment. "You really have no idea what you are truley asking. You have no idea just how bad it really was." Megan stopped and thoughts back to those nights, when she was still so young. Young enough to convince her that it was her own fault. Then she remembered watching him kill her mother. The only person, besides her sister of course, who had ever cared about her. "My father's a killer, a rapist, anything and everything that you could possibly think of."

As Megan just mentioned the things that her father was, Kevin almost cringed. His father wasn't that bad. He was abusive and cold, but it wasn't to that extent. "Sounds fucked up." He mumbled, not sounding as harsh all of a sudden, because he felt a little bad for her. He wasn't used to feeling sympathy that way, but he did this time. "Where's daddy now?" He asked.

Where was daddy? That's what really scared her. She didn't know. For all she knew, he could be following her, waiting for just the right moment to attack. And that scared her. "I--I don't know. They had released him from jail several weeks ago. More like two months at least." And he's waiting. "He could be anywhere really." Could you ever picture Kevin and Megan ever getting along? Even for a moment? It seemed unlikely, really.

To Kevin, that sounded dangerous. If he were her, he'd be checking behind his back every half a second and paranoid that someone that terrible was coming after him. "Are you scared? Scared he's going to come looking for you?" He asked, assuming that she might be if it was mentioned to begin with. She sounded afraid when she said that she didn't know and he was just putting the pieces together.

Megan nodded. "Yeah, I am. Noone knows. I don't want to put my family in any danger." Actually, only Aidan knew, but she was sure that he wouldn't tell the 'rents. It was pretty scary, though. Not knowing what to expect.

"Isn't it more dangerous not knowing?" Kevin asked. For once, he actually felt sympathy for someone that he was screwing with. Usually, the problems people had seemed petty to him. He'd just scoff and keep harassing them. But, not this time-- He actually felt a little guilty, which was an amazing feeling for him. It just wasn't something he was used to. And getting along with someone he didn't usually get along with was amazing.

Megan bit her bottom lip, and took a seat on the steps. She stared down at the ground. "I don't know. I guess. I don't even know what to do." She looked back up at Kevin. "You just don't understand though. What if I tell? What then? Wouldn't that put everyone I care for at risk?"
