Marissa had it rough lately. With her recovering from her eating disorder and the fact that her dad was keeping tabs on her...actually, he wasn't. He was too busy during whatever it is he was. Ever since the fight with her dad, she'd been staying with Rumor. She was nice enough to let her stay. And she was greatful for that. After all, she refused to go to either home. She hated both of her parents. And hating people was really not like her. And yet, there were four people that she hated: her mom and dad, JJ Yorke, and of course Willow Santos.
Today, she just really didn't feel like eating lunch. Even though she knew that she should. But she was too stressed to eat. Her father, her breakup, she just felt depressed. It complicated things more.
With a sigh, Marissa walked into the commons and sat down at an empty table, just watching as people passed her table. She didn't care. Marissa prefered to be alone anyway. Pulling out her book, she flipped to the page that she was on and began reading where she'd left off.

Willow was chatting away with Rachel this lunch period, until one of the teachers asked Rachel to please see her. Willow waved goodbye to her faux friend and looked around. When she spotted Rachel, she grinned and walked over.
"Hi there, Marissa" she said with a feigned sweet tone. "Whatchya reading?" she asked, sitting in front of her. She flipped her brown hair as she waited for a response

Marissa was flipping to the next page when she heard another voice and looked up. It was rather weird seeing Willow actually being nice to her, but it was better than the alternative. "Oh, just a book by Nicholas Sparks. His books are really good." She closed her book and set it down beside her, looking to Willow. But she wasn't sure what else to say.

"wow, that's fascinating. So, we're going to the mall today. And bring your cousin or second cousin or whatever she is along. We could use the unlimited credit card, you know?" she said, not even paying attention to what she said. She simply paid attention to tones. And she was right most of the time

"You mean Natasha?" Marissa quickly nodded. "Oh yeah. Of course. I'm sure she would love to come along." Of course. Natasha was the sweetest girl. And Marissa loved her. In fact, Marissa wished that she could be more like her couse, minus being naive. But that was part of the older girls charm.

Willow grinned. She might act like she forgot all about what Marissa had said to her before, but of course, she hadn't. And, she had a plan. A nice, long-term plan. And, as was the case with most of her long-term plans, it involved being nice to her. So, she would play nice for a while, and she instructed her girls to do the same thing. When the timing was right, when Marissa's life seemed to be going perfectly, then she would strike. And she honestly didn't care what Rachel said. She didn't care if she was dating Marissa's brother. He was a loser; they both were. Besides, she had her own little plan for Rachel, as well.
When she accepted, Willow gave her perfect smile. "Fabulous! You know, this will be fun. we really don't get to hang out very often." Maybe it was because Willow was queen and Marissa was a common loser. But, she didn't say that. Why would she say that? Willow never really said anything. That was a job for her friends. It was how Willow stayed out of trouble. Anything that could be traced back, would only go as far as Rachel or Abigail, or one of the others. Willow had gone through her share of trouble during grades nine and ten. It was their turn.
