Matt was getting tired of hearing the words. It's ok. Just because you lost your ability to walk doesn't mean the world is ending. Well, fuck them all. And fuck their end of the world too. They didn't get it. And he didn't care. Nobody knew his dreams, his goals for his future were all crushed. After all, how the fuck was he going to drive for NASCAR when he couldn't even move his feet? But who the hell cared about that? As long as the world wasn't ending.
This was Marissa's fault. Matt was focused on the girl. His entire life seemed to revolve around hating his girlfriend. It was a very unhealthy obsession. And as his dad said when he found a very hateful poem, he needed to get the hell out of the house and dump her already. He wasn't going to dump her. That was too nice. He wanted to punish her for what she did to him. He intended to drag it out, cheat on her and hurt her in every way possible. He did leave the house, though, and took the bus to the park.
He watched the ground as the chair rolled down a trail. His mind wandered off, thinking back to before all this happened. He was finally able to be happy. He couldn't believe that things could get so good and then go so wrong. All he had wanted was to be happy with his girlfriend and his parents and not have to worry about jackasses like Jonathan. Before he knew it, though, the trail curved and Matt, well, continued straight. The wheel hit a branch and lunged him forward, off the seat. He landed on his stomach with a groan. Holding his body up with his arms, he managed to turn himself around. He laid on the ground, panting. Isn't this just fan fucking tastic?

If anyone knew what it was like to feel sorry for yourself, it would be Jessa. And the girl had every reason to do so. Learning that her parents never wanted her. Everyone now knowing about her insensitivity to pain thinks to her brother. Though she did not blame him. She never did. She just wished that he had not said anything. That was all. She hated feeling like some freak. Always feeling like she was on the outside looking in. It just truly sucked. She wanted to feel like a normal teenager. Was that too much to ask for? It didn’t matter. No one would ever understand. How could they? Well, they couldn’t. Simple as that. Why had she even survived? The Sniper should have just killed her. It was not like she really had anything to live for anyway. And her condition would only end up killing her down the road anyway. She just wanted it all to end already.
People were already starting to treat her horribly. The prank with the flyers for one. Nothing like that ever had happened before the night of the dance. Kids were just so frigging cruel. Weren’t they? Whatever. She hated that school anyway.
Jessa needed to get out. That much, she was for sure. So she grabbed her jacket and her cell and headed out the front door. She did not even know where she was going. All she knew was that she needed some time alone, away from everyone. And before she knew it, Jessa found herself at the park. She walked along in the trail, lost in her own thoughts. And not paying attention, she had tripped over a rock, falling to the ground and scrapping her elbow. “Shit..” she muttered under her breathe before getting back to her feet. And that was when she noticed her brother further down the trail. Swallowing, Jessa walked to him. “Do you need any help?” she asked, in a whisper. She did not want to make him mad by helping if he didn’t want her help.

''No.'' Matt was lying there, willing himself to get up. His back was raising but his knees wouldn't bend. Finally, Matt looked at her. He couldn't ask for help, and he couldn't explain why. It was all a complicated mess. Matt was supposed to be the protective big brother. No matter how much he tried to deny it, he always liked his siblings looking up to him. And he would do anything for them. He proved that once when he took a bullet meant for Aidan. That had been one of his proudest moments. So had tossing fireworks in Jack's house. He just hoped that his siblings would understand why he had to die right after prom. He needed one final moment that he could be proud of.
''I think I'll stay down here for a while. Wanna join me?'' She probably didn't want to lay down. Matt had let Jessa down. Yelling out about her CIPA? It didn't protect her. It made it worse. Matt accepted the blame for that. He had even bought her a bear when she was in the hospital. He had set it by her bed with a note that simply said Sorry. --Matt. Matt was bad at talking, much like their dad. But he had at least done that. Though, He didn't feel forgiven. This was the first time he had actually spoken to her since they got their parents back together.
