Hayden had never been a bad kid, so to speak. In fact, most of his life, he stayed out of trouble. Most of the problems he had in primary school and in junior high had been petty. He got in trouble for little things, nothing more than any other average kid. It was his freshman year that everything changed for him. He introduced himself to parties and drinking. And it was alcohol that had been his downfall. He never knew why it effected him differently than it did some of his other friends. He came to the point where he couldn't be without it. And everything started changing. He started acting out, ditching school, and hiding liquor wherever he could.
Four months ago, it was established that he had a problem. And with a little resistance, he ended up here. At first, it was hell, but he didn't regret it now. He felt healthy and genuinely happy. Not to mention excited to actually get out of here to go home. He had been counting down until today for months. Of course, he saw his family sometimes. But, it wasn't the same as being home. Along with the excitement, he was a little frightened of what high school was going to have in store for him.
He'd see the same old people, and there would be those same parties. What if he couldn't say no? He could end up back in the depths again! He tried not to think that way, and the counsellors at the rehab centre told him not to. He stood in the lobby, anxiously awaiting to be picked up.

Anya was told that she would be able to pick up her son today. Sure, her and Madison were able to see him every Saturday, but it wasn't the same without him at home. And Madison, being younger, had always looked up to her brother. She was always the quiet and shy young girl. And the only person she ever really talked to was her brother. So, the past four months had been kinda lonely.
Once, Anya pulled into the parking lot of the TO Rehab Facility, she quickly parking. Madison got out of the car, before her mother could even turn off the engine. Madison had walked ahead of her mother and into the building. And Anya walked in right behind her mother.
Seeing Hayden was definetely weird at first for Madison. She never came up here as much as her mother. She actually only came like once a month. Why? She didn't know. But now they could take him home, and hopefully thing could go back to normal. Madison ran up to her older brother in the lobby, and gave him a hug. "It is sooo good to see you." she replied, excitedly.

Hayden had been watching the door anxiously. They'd be there any minute... Any minute. And the second that he saw his mother and sister, he jumped up from his chair and grinned excitedly. He never questioned why his sister didn't visit as often as his mom did. He figured that it had to be a little weird to visit him here. He didn't know that he'd be any different in her position. He had always gotten along with his family, especially his little sister.
He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her close. "I missed you guys so much!" Even if he saw them every once in a while, he still missed them. It was never long enough to him, and he just wanted to be home and get back to the life he had before. He thought it could be completely normal again.

Anya walked over to her to kids. "It will be great to have you home, Hayden. It just hasn't been the same without you. Besides, maybe you can get you sister out of the house. Cause I haven't been able to." She replied, in a joking tone, but was serious.
Madison just gave her mm a warning look. Yeah, she hadn't really been associating with a lot of people. But, honestly? That was just never her. "Mom, I get out plenty. But you know what? We should celebrate."
Anya nodded. "How about we go out for ice cream?"

As Anya walked over to them, Hayden instantly pulled his mother into a hug. He couldn't be more ecstatic to leave. This place hadn't been awful for him. In fact, it had done him a lot of good. But, he wanted to get away from it and back home where he belonged. As she mentioned getting his sister out of the house, he laughed a little and flashed Madison a grin. "Oh, no more hermiting out on my watch. We'll find lots to do." He planned to hang out with her a lot and he wanted to get out and have fun, so he thought that they could do it together.
As ice cream was mentioned, he nodded. "That sounds great." He said, quickly agreeing to that. All day he had felt like celebrating. It was a big day for him. And a day that he'd been looking forward to for months now.

Madison grinned. Actually, she had become like a hermit, staying inside all day, except for school. But she thought of her brother as her best friend. And it had been hard, when he'd gotten sent to rehab. "Yeah. We could go bowling or ice skating or something fun." Madison insisted. She used to love ice skating, but she hadn't even done that in a year.
Anya motioned for them to follow. "Well, let's get out of her. Go get some ice cream. We'll have a family night. Rent movies, play gmes, talk, whatever you want to do Hayden."

"Someone needs to invent ice bowling." Hayden said when she listed things that they could do. Those were things that he hadn't done in forever. He missed it so much too. He used to go out and have fun a lot. Finally being allowed out made him remember just how much he had missed. And so much of the simple things too. Like watching movies and just hanging out with people.
He wrapped an arm around Madison's shoulder and nodded. "That sounds great. Can we get something really scary?" He asked, even though he wasn't the bravest, he loved horror movies. He also had a thing for comedies too, the sillier, the better, usually.

Madison was exactly the bravest when it came to horror movies, either. But she would watch them with her brother. "Yeah. Something super scary. The scarier, the better. How about a horror movie, and I comedy. Something real funny. I know how much you love those."
Anya unlocked her car door. "Yeah. We could do that. Hayden, why don't you sit up front. So we can talk." she replied, getting into the car.

"Yeah." Hayden agreed with a nod of his head. "You know me too well." And pairing up those types of movies was always fun. They were opposite genres after all. He got to the car and climbed into the front seat. He had a bag with him, with some of the things he had taken with him and put it down on the floorboard when he remembered something.
"Oh yeah! I have a present for you guys. They're kind of silly though, so no laughing." He teased, though he really wouldn't mind if they did laugh.

Anya started up the car, turning on the heater.
Madison climbed into the back seat. "oooo. Presents? What kind of presents?" Madison asked, excitedly, sitting forward in her seat.

"Silly presents. Don't get too excited," He laughed. He couldn't exactly get anything all that interesting, since there weren't really stores. But, he had gotten them something. "I was really bored, a lot. And we had this group where we were supposed find something to do, to keep us busy." He explained and pulled his bag up into his lap.
It was supposed to be a technique to keep his mind off of things and to keep his hands busy. "So, I learned to--" He pulled out a scarf, "Knit." After he pulled the scarf out, he pulled a hat out and tossed it back to his sister. "A hat for you, and a scarf for you." He said, showing the scarf to his mom. "Oh and this crazy thing." He tossed what looked like it was supposed to be a stuffed toy back to Madisson too. "It was supposed to be an elephant, but it's kind of deformed."

When her brother tossed her the hat, she put it on right away. "oooo. I love it. How do I look?" she giigled, as she took the stuffed toy too. She had always loved stuffed animals. She actually collected them. "These are so cool. And because you make it makes it even more special."
At the stop light, Anya put the scarf around her neck. "I love it, Sweetie. Wait til we get home. Me and you sister both got you something too."

"Great!" Hayden complimented when he saw the hat on her. "I'm glad you like them." He never thought before that knitting might become his thing. But, it turned out to be really good for him. At the mention of them having got something, he grinned.
"Ooh, what'd you get? Do I get a hint?" He asked curiously. He hadn't been this excited in a while, but who wouldn't be? He was exactly where he wanted to be now.
